I also have the three ton steel jack, and OMG is it heavy! But, it works just great.....it has the quick lift (where it moves further for each pump until it encounters the load) and I bought it to get under lowered MINI Coopers.

I think I paid $69 on sale with a 25% off coupon....great deal!

Not sure about these particular jacks but I use hockey pucks for all my jacks and the lift. Real (cheap) pucks, not the high priced automobile ones with the hang tabs on them.

Between the pad on a LP jack and the frame of an F350, you would about 6-8 hockey pucks !

I can use a piece of 4x6, on edge, and it is still not enough and is not always real stable.

I have the HF 4 ton rapid lift jack. it is low enough to fit under my 89 civic and lifts my 95 ram 2500 4x4 easily. really good jack IMO.

If ordering online just type 81119069 in the apply coupon box in the checkout cart screen, if you go to store, you can tell them you have this coupon code. I do not have a link, it was in one of the inserts back page of Sundays paper I saw at my grandparents house.

Keep in mind, shipping ground is only $7 for a complete order.

I'm also looking at the alloy HF jacks. Best I can find, is that people who have them are basically happy, and most of those who dislike them don't actually have them. They do only have like 3 out of 5 on the HF website too.

I'm just holding off to see if I can find any information about rebuilding them if/when they need it. So far I can't find anything. I know it'd only be $60 to buy another one, but I don't think it's very responsible (environmentally) to have throw-away jacks.

I don't understand how many of you can have so such good experiences with import jacks.

I think I seriously I have the uncanny ability to pick out the ones that leak fluid after a year. I guess if I were to need to buy another. I'd get the extended warranty.

I bought the 3 ton LP specifically to help in taking my 23' boat off its trailer, which I had to do in the dirt. I didn't want to ruin my expensive aluminum jack. The boat weights just under 5k, the jack handled the weight with no problem.

I have a 2.5 ton steel HF jack from the 70's that lifted every vehicle that I have had. Last year it didn't. I added jack fluid and it was back in business. Still have the replacement seal kit that came with it. Maybe it will be needed in another 30 to 40 years.

I have the 3 ton and it's great. It has great control for letting it down slowly. It' sheen through 3 jeep lift installs and a ton of other stuff.
