First time poster, long time lurker.
I'm installing a Hot Dawg unit heater in my garage. Will be venting vertically through a finished (drywall and insulation) ceiling and then through the roof. The heater has a 3" exhaust and I casually thought that I would just go buy a venting kit. But online research is proving difficult (if not infuriating). The only kits I can find are 4". I'm assuming I should just go with a 4" kit and add a 3"-4" adapter out the back of the unit...?
Or I locate individual pieces of 3" B-Vent....? Also, i'm having trouble finding a kit with a collar for going through the drywall/insulation. Oh, and I haven't found a kit with a drip T that I assume is necessary. All of them just have a 90 degree elbow.

Any pointers or suggestions would be incredibly helpful at this point. Thanks in advance.

Is the heater rated for vertical venting?

Yes, you can vent vertically, but I forget if B-vent is acceptable.

Nmarlof. What do the instructions say?

I would not worry about a "kit" , just buy what you need. Most home stores have B-vent. Stainless is a but tougher to buy locally.

Yes the instruction manual indicates vertical venting, double wall being recommended.
Thanks for the replies.

Alright, my local big box store had 3" B Vent in stock with all the parts I needed except for a tee with cleanout cap. Didn't know they had 3" but it makes sense now that I found it. I can't find info on what my local code requires but the Modine installation clearly indicates a tee drip leg/clean out so I ordered one online.

Make sure it is the same brand. B-vent does not exchange between brands.

If you ordered it from the same big box store, then never mind!
