I needed to move my air injection system out of the way of the door. I shortened it up to fit the area that handles four cords of wood. I run it for a month after I stack the bay full of wood and depending on the moisture, the pile can shrink a few inches over a month.

Wood left over from last year.

With rain in the forecast, I moved all of my cut wood inside the shop. I stood back and asked myself " What have I done?"

How much does that translate to stacked on pallets?
I am not really sure but it's allot of wood. That pile is about 25 ft long. I had it stacked outside on 8 pallets at varying heights. Once I get to stacking I can only go 6ft high.

I got my shop back. I figure there was 2 1/2 cord in that pile. I kept the really big ones up front for splitting.

This is all of the junk that came along with the wood that I cleaned up.

[QUOTE
The junk from the woodpile yours in the compost stack or can it be burned?
]
Captian14, I dump it in the compost pile. The compost pile is getting very large this year as I had some first cutting hay go bad.

Rburke65, The air injection system blows air behind the pile of wood. In about a month I notice some shrinkage in the pile. It also prevents mold on the back wall. This year I have fairly dry wood but I still run the fan. The fan is up about 7 ft high and pulls in warm air once I start burning wood.

I made the door frame out of 2x8 lumber.

I have a little flashing work to do yet to finish up.

What a pain getting the steel back on the building. Glad we had a calm day and 52 deg.

Got the door framed out. I installed biscuits and glued it up before I pounded in the fasteners.

You mentioned mold behind the damp firewood. I have stained 3 sheds this summer and have noticed the T-111 growing mold and getting soft beside it because it never had a good chance to dry out. Yes there was wood and what it stacked close by.

I am thinking of using T111 on my door. Maybe frame it out with pine to make it look like a barn door. Paint it red with white trim.

The finished door. I used T111 and trimmed it out with pine. After priming I gave it two coats of paint.

I hung the door. I have some flashing, hardware to install, and a handle. I also need to install a bottom slider so the door stays off of the siding.

I installed weather stripping around the door and the hooks pull it in for a tight seal.
