I should start by saying I wish I could keep cost down with a pole barn, but my property layout won't allow it.
I am beginning to start the planning for a new building. This will be my work shop and vehicle toy storage.
The building will be sunk into the bank across from my existing 28 x 24 attached garage and next to my 26 x 30 Quonset hut.
My first rough estimate sees 6' walls for three sides unless I step down the 40' deep walls as the grade decreases. I am not sure what I would gain.
I am planning on in floor heat as I currently have an outdoor wood boiler setup to run another building.
I want to go 12' high to make sure I can put a lift in at some time.
I think once the concrete is poured it will go quick.
I should say that there is a root cellar already in the place that I am putting this building. I have a bunch of excavating work that needs to be done. I might start having some people come out to start bidding the excavating. A guy I wok with has a concrete business on the side hopefully that will save me some cash.
I would love some suggestions and ideas. I would really like to get started this spring.
Thanks for reading.
