I've used many ideas from the site, so I thought I'd share a few pictures of the shop I built over the last year or so. Stick built 2x6 construction with truss roof. Tried to utilize full 12' studs with double top and bottom plate for max inside height. Pine siding with Azek trim. No power to the building yet, but maybe soon!

Thanks. 9' wide doors. 12'6" tall. Foundation was done about 10 years ago when we built our house. Back then I didn't put a lot of thought into it unfortunately. Wish I'd done 9'6" wide.

Not including the foundation that was poured when I originally built my house, I have ~$23,000 into it. I think the cost is pretty reasonable for the size.

I'm fortunate that I was able to do all the labor other than the concrete floor pour. I only had one person help when it came time to put up the trusses. He brought over his tractor and boom attachment. In hindsight, for the $ I paid him, I could have built a boom for my own tractor and set them on my own.

I lucked out in being able to use a local mill for the rough cut hemlock purlin material, the T&G pine siding, ordering the trusses, and supplying the metal roofing. The costs thru him were much lower than any other vendor I could find. I didn't want to use rough cut for the main structure, so I uses typical framing lumber almost exclusively thru Home Depot. They were again cheaper than any other small local vendor for that. Also, I could use my enclosed trailer to run up to NH and purchase it tax free. I even ordered my three garage doors thru HD when they had a 20% sale if ordered by the end of the year in 2013. Was also able to stack a 10% off coupon on top of that w/ no sales tax. Guess I'm a cheapskate. :D

No heat, insulation, or sheetrock at this point either, but they'll come in time.
