Finally decided to go with the Legacy Industrial Nohr -S mainly for the ease of use, because I would mainly be by myself. The saw cuts where filled with sand and then the gel crack filler. The floor was ground with a HD diamabrush unit done with water to keep the dust down. Then the floor was pressure washed and let dry for 5 days with floor heat set for 70 degrees.

Put down two coats of Nohr-S , wanted a light grey so used less medium grey pigment and added a white pigment for a perfect color. Third coat added the soft skid for slip resistance, as I will be washing vehicles in there often. The coating went down nice, hardest part was mixing in the pigments:lol :.

Yes, very strong. But all products would have some type of compromise. This is one part no mixing to make a mistake on, but pigment needs to be mixed in. No pot life to worry about when putting it down. From what I read, it ends up thinner, even with three coats. Supposed to be a tough product, which was a big pus for me. I guess only time will tell how it holds up, seems like a lot of posts on there installs. I hope to remember down the road and give a long term follow up.

Approximately $2,400 but I have 6 grey pigments I never used @ 19 each leftover. Only time will tell if it was worth the extra coin.

Did you cut the corners in first? How long before it starts to dry? I will be doing by myseld and am trying to figure out how to best apply it. I have the 18" rollers. Did you use a brush or small roller for edges?

Sir,

Can I ask - why this over Rust Bullet? The quotes I've been given on Rust Bullet would be much less than you've listed above - and they're essentially the same appearance, right? Am I missing something?

Much more build with our NohrS. Products like you described would require 6 or more coats to achieve the same build.

Epoxy-like gloss and 2 hour recoats are the other important differences.

Apples and oranges.

I guess my point would be... Durability vs build. Is nohr s more durable than rust bullet? If not, who cares about thickness of the surface if the longevity is equivalent

Apples and oranges isn't applicable when the goal is appearance and durability /cleanabilty of a surface. Same goal, my question is why is a more expensive product worth the extra money and effort? I'm not sold on a product yet for my upcoming floor... Just trying to understand all my options.

Mils thickness, durability and appearance are all important criteria when selecting a coating. Each has a role to play. I agree with you, good build with poor durability would be less beneficial. I will note that Nohr-S is a proprietary blend of urethane, Polyaspartic and polyurea. All three are excellent on the durability scale with the added benefit of thickness its a package hard to beat.

We don't test other designs. However our technical data is available on our site. Read it and draw your own conclusions.

In addition, here is a good article: http://allgaragefloors.com/nohr-s-best-diy-polyurea-floor-coating/

I don't get all the technical stuff but thanks for the link to the article. Certainly interesting things to think about when deciding on a new floor coating.

I am about to put down my nohr s this weekend. I am curious to see if the thickness hides a fee little flaws in my surface. The rust bullet pics i saw on here look like it is very thin and shows all little flaws. I am speaking with no experience, just pics i have seen.

Yes, corners and edges with a brush. My daughter did that, but was way ahead of me so that tacked up before I got there with the roller. I can't see why you couldn't do that first by yourself. No problem with it drying to fast and my floor was heated to 70 degrees. You could walk on mine later that day, but I did not keep track of time as I put one coat per day due to the floor size. Hope that helps, I would not hesitate to use this by myself having done it.

I'am no expert, but the thicker the coating I think the more it might blend in imperfections but they won't go away. I do see some small gouges that I missed when filling spots with the crack filler that I could have touched up. The soft skid helps also by taking that pure shiny surface and breaking it up, very happy with that, works very well.

Thanks. I almost finished up today. It is looking really good. I will post some tips for future users later. One thing i found out is make sure you buy enough. If you run out you will have to prep surface again before applying. I am so over this job and now have to wait a week for product and reprep for a small little 10x10area. Ouch! one more gallon and i would be done now.

Does Legacy International sanction mixing pigments for Nohr-S to obtain alternate colors? I love the light gray w/o flakes!

Thanks!

Only the first time the truck and tractor was parked, both spent several days parked before being moved. I have not seen any since then.
