Just wanted to show off my shop I just finished. It's taken me quite a while to finish up as I've had to move everything out, and work around my work schedule to get everything done. I acid etched all the floors with a 2:1 water/acid ratio, and flushed everything twice, then came back and flooded the floor with 1lb of baking soda per 5 gal water. That was also rinsed off twice. I primed the floor with OCC's water based primer, then came back and spread all the epoxy with a 3/16" serrated squeegee. I was very surprised at how fast the cement eats the teeth off those things, but luckily I had bought a few extra (just in case). I planned for 1gal/100sf coverage, and came out perfect. I used Royal Blue for the working areas of the shop and Traffic Yellow for the vehicle bays. This yellow makes finding dropped bolts and small items super easy. The black area with the white flakes is a locked toolroom, and the black area with the pink flakes is a little 'craft' area I made for my wife for sewing and making holiday decorations. I was torn between red, green, and yellow vehicle bays, but am very pleased my wife urged me towards the yellow! I bought industrial reflector tape and put it down after the epoxy dried to separate my areas, then came back over all of it with OCC's 747 polyurethane clear coat. I did add about 2 oz per gallon of sharkgrip to the clear for anti-slip purposes. I have mixed feelings about it, and wish I'd done more research on it before I used it. It doesn't take away from the gloss at all, but the floor has a rough feel to it. It's great for walking, but if you're lying under a car and raise up on an elbow, it definitely says hello! I think I should've gone with the aluminum powder I've seen talked about on here instead.
All in all, I learned a new skill, brightened up my shop, and have a floor that doesn't have stains on it now. To anyone waiting to pull the trigger on this, I say stop waiting, you'll be so glad you did it when you're finished!
