I bought this cylinder earlier this year for use in my garage. I realize that for one, it is too big for me. For two, my local AirGas doesn't want to fill it for me because I own the tank and am not leasing it from them.
This tank was purchased by a company called Mine Lifeline in WV. They build life shelters for the coal mines in WV. Each shelter used about 10 of these tanks filled with O2. There was a design flaw with their shelters, so they scrapped them and started over. A middle-man (I forget the technical term) buys the tanks from the bad shelters and re-sells them all over the country. That's how I ended up with it.
I have the original receipt from where he bought it from the mine company that goes with it.
Hydro test date is June '08. It is good until 2018 and is rated for a 10% overfill.
If you have a welding business or already have an account with AirGas...this is perfect for you. This is a customer owned tank. Not a lease.
Due to the size and weight of this thing, I would really, really prefer not to ship it. I will deliver it within 40 miles of Roanoke for free. If you are farther, maybe we can work something out. I can throw it on a pallet and drop it off at a trucking company if you wish, however I want to say it will be around $125 to ship it.
