I have a portable backup power generator with only 30A four prong oulets. This generator is replacing an older generator with a 20A outlet that I connected to a 20A inlet box and transfer switch box in my house.
How can I connect the two? I'd like to avoid the expense of installing a new 30A inlet and switch box.
I see you can buy 30A to 20A cable adapters so I presume you can connect a 20A cable to 30A outlet?
The adapters support 5000 watt max. My new generator is 7125 peak/5700 running watts.
Can I replace the 20A plug on my cable with a 30A plug so I can plug into the generator?
