Running 10/3 out to a 30 amp subpanel in a small single car detached garage (1915 vintage). Nothing big needed, just a light circuit, a couple 20 amp outlets, and a 220 just in case I may want to plug my small electric heater in the future.

I have a Siemens 4-breaker panel, I see the locations for the 2 load wires and the neutral, but...where/how do I attached the ground wire? I have seen all the threads about making sure the neutral and ground bus bars are not tied on a sub panel, but this panel doesn't even have a ground bar (??)

Your going to regret being stingy when you bought that loadcenter, use a 12 space model, & as the poster wrote above, use a ground bar kit.

I have that same panel, use it for the air compressor disconnect. See the holes to the right side in the back wall of the box? that is where the ground bar attaches. Buy one of the ones Siemens lists in the instructions and it will fit perfectly. That panel will handle up to eight breakers, the thin tandem breakers. They also make quad breakers where the two in the middle are a double pole for 240v circuits and the two outer ones are single pole for 120v circuits. Buy the tandems in the beginning and you won't be swapping them out later when you want to add breakers.

If you decide to up the panel size and end up with more than 6 breakers you will need to have a main disconnect. To me it's best to just buy a main breaker panel instead of a main lug panel. This is only required if in a detached structure.
