Why are the small 30k btu garage heater so much??

Trying to help a friend shop and then install one

30k units are pricey compared to 45ks, and I think only Hot Dawg makes them

Some sites they are almost priced the same.

Suspect they might be the same units with slightly different “ tune” ???

Then pricing might be more a marketing or numbers related to volume sales ?

The heat exchanger part number is not the same.

Really, the materials are not much different between the two. If you check pricing on all the modine Hot Dawgs they don't change much as they get bigger. When you think about it the process to manufacture is pretty much the same on a 30K as a 100K, just a bit more in materials, bigger pieces. Why would the price be much different?

I have owned both Modine & Reznor also, in similar sizes. IMHO, the Reznor is a higher quality appliance and has needed considerably less maintenance. It's quieter also.

They’re built for industrial use and are made to last. Modine has a residential and commercial version. So to compare a Renzor vs Modine you would have to compare both commercial versions.

Warranty wise, The Renzor beats Modine with the 10 year warranty on exchanger and 5 year on everything else.

Modine has 10 year warranty on exchanger and 2 year every for everything else, even on the PDP models
