Yes, we built it ourselves. I had no blueprints to go by, only mental notes/memories of old style buildings. It is 16' wide x 30'deep & 10'sidewalls, 2"x 6"framed. I even built the swing out doors from scratch as well. The pictures don't show it very clear but there is a 1930 Chevrolet spoked wheel mounted on the building with an air hose coiled around it like they use to do years ago.

Are all those old hulks future projects or just part of the ambiance?
A little of both. The Nova project belongs to my son. He backed it out of the garage for the picture. The rest of them just happened. I started with a 50 Chev 2dr & went to see a guy about some parts & ended up with a 49 4dr fastback, a 50 4dr fastback and a 49 2dr. There is a 49 4dr I picked up because of a cherry dash. There is a 52 2dr I picked up for the cherry doors. Picked up the truck for the 454 and turbo 400 A friend give me a running 6 cylinder for the fastback. So all in all my son and keep busy - but it's fun.

Looks like Southern California High Desert.... Palmdale?
I never thought about it - but in the pictures it does have that similar look to it. Actually next door in Arizona.

Thank you, that is a neat paint job.

Thanks to Bazateer for the link.

Nice garage, and the proportions fit the era.

I am stuck at home today, snowed in... and I look at your dusty forecourt to your garage..... and I wonder why I left South Africa 8 years ago (Thats a joke, I know why I came here)

Yep, Sinclair, one of the nicest colour and logo combo's in Gasoline.

I spoke to their legal department to get permission to use the colours/kolors etc.

The bus will be getting painted over the Christmas break this year.... if all goes to plan.

Here is a photoshop of the colours, however, there will be more white, and less red, also the roof will get large checkers in black and white, except for a narrow band around the edge, like the one below the white.

Hope that makes sense.

More like this without the trailer.

I am currently building a Teardrop trailer. Which should look like the pic below.

Very nice Garage. I like it.

I like the swing out doors you built also. Do you have any more pictures of the doors and any information on how you built them? I actually have 3 sets of swing out bi-fold doors on my 40'x60' garage that need replaced. I was hoping to build new doors myself.

Again, Nice garage.

Thank you, this Sunday I should be able to take some pictures of the doors. I can also try and explain how I made them. So check back on this late Sunday afternoon.

#1 Measure out the space, leave a 1/4" +/- at each end and the center
#2 Cut a 2" x 4" for each door width & as seen in photos - the 2"x 4" will be face down wideside to the ground when the the door frame is built - keep that in mind.
#3 Repeat step 2 for a top frame + another for a neartop below window opening
#4 Cut the two side frame boards
#5 I added a additional side frame with double supports - as seen in the photos - because my doors are wider than 4 feet & I used 4 foot wide wood paneling and used that additional upright to mate the two pieces of plywood. Note; the old style wood siding was made for a building but I used it for a door.
#6 I built window openings with 1"x 2" - note how thw wood is cut and placed
#7 I used 1"x 4" trim boards to use as facia & to close up the exterior gaps neatly
#8 I used a top facia mounted slightly higher than top of door to seal againist building
#9 I used drywall type screws to put it all together
#10 I bought HD hinges & used large wood screws

I know this is a rough run thru but ask any questions and I will try to answer later.

Great pictures. With the pictures of the doors you took and the description, I see exactly how you built them.

The doors look good. Thanks for taking the time to take the extra pictures and write your procedure. I appreciate it.

Your welcome, as I said that was a rough outline - but - it is easier to do than one would think.
