30x30x11' garage project

Hello,

I've been lurking on the forum for a little bit but decided to join since I'm about to get the permit for my garage. I'm going with a 30x30 Post frame which is the max sq. footage I can have in my subdivision. I am also going with an 11' roof with scissor trusses over my side (married) of the garage so I can install a lift sometime after I complete the garage. I'm limited to a 14' building height so 11' was as high as I could go with 4/12 trusses.

My building inspector said he needs more information on the header boards I will be using so I went to Menards and had them run the span sheets for the LVL header beams I will be running. I plan to have a 16x9 garage door on the eve side so from what I have read I will need to do two 2x12 LVL beams under each side of the building for the truss supports and I plan on doing a 3-ply LVL 2x14 for the garage header.

When I looked at the span sheets I saw there were different ratings for Dry Load and Live Load. Can someone explain what these are? I did a google search but I didn't see anything that was of much value. Is there a site that will let me know what my requirements are here in lower Michigan?

I plan on asking my inspector but I'm impatient and it takes him a week or so to respond sometimes.

if anything I planned out here will not work, I'm open to input and suggestions.

Quick glance I believe says 2 ply 1-3/4" x 14" over 16'3" span is going to be good. If building a 2x6 stud wall there is something nice about having the full 3-ply thickness despite the obvious extra cost.
