I'll keep you updated as the contractor progresses. If the rain holds off, should be done in a month.

Be careful using Google Sketchup for architectural drawings. I laid out my garage plans using Sketchup, but didn't account for the wall thicknesses or the brick. Once those were factored in, the available space, clearances, etc. all changed quite a bit.

Looks good, though!

Check out a 15 dollar download from HomeDepot. It will give you a product list but also let you do walls windows, doors rafter/trusses, and roof pitch.

I like it but wish it would show siding. It does give you 3d, left right front and rear views.

It's from BigHammer and it is called Garage Bot.

You have to go back into it's contractor section to find it on line. Worth it.

Update: 30x40 Plans and Footers Dug

Update photos. Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions. I went with the doors in the non-gable side to allow for more width on each side of a car. I can't stand not being able to open cars doors without banging something. Also wanted plenty of room around the walls for work benches, toolboxs, and other equipment. The window seals are 5' off the floor so they won't get covered by a bench, cabinet, or box.

Nice garage. Love the room upstairs. What are your plans for it?
