I have been a member here for awhile now, my shop isn't much compared to all these garages. Its a slow process, but as money permits I am slowly starting to insulate and take that next step into what I had in my head.

I had it built in November of 2019, its a 30x40x11 6 inch concrete and 1/2 rebar on 2 ft centers, and two 3x3 sections of concrete that I had poured at 10 inches thick for my lift post.

After it got built I immediately moved stuff in and started to moonlight out of it for extra cash, along with working on my old mans 67 Chevy.

Fast forward to December of 2020 and I had some extra money so I started to stud, insulate, and sheet a few sections of the barn. I also came across some free solid wood cabinets to hang. I was never a fan of cabinets untill I found this site, I liked being able to see where things are when I need them, going thru many and many of threads here, I learned to love cabinets and how they clean the area up so much. My plan with them is to sand and paint them, I am still trying to figure out colors.

I have a few ideas on color,
A) bottom 4' a darker grey, with a 6" red stripe, and a light grey on the top of the wall, then the darker grey for the cabinet with red doors.
B) Maybe a pallet wood wainscoting, and stick with greys and reds for the color pallet.

The reason I am thinking of doing a pallet wainscoting is one the price, but mainly to help prevent damage of rolling a work bench or the like into the sheetrock. My original plan was osb walls painted because I hated sheetrock in my attached garage because it was a pain to hang singage. However I started this project in the midst of Covid-19 where lumber prices are outrageous. 3 years ago when I sheeted my attached garage ceiling with osb it was less then $9.00 a sheet, now its $23.00, if I was going to go wood I would have bumped up to plywood for $24.00. However I got a 4x8x10 piece of sheetrock for 12.00, I just couldn't justify the price difference. It was only going to be about 600-700 dollars more, but thats 600-700 dollars I can spend elsewhere, plus I really like these garages when they are painted up nicely. Time will tell if I regret this decisions.

Phew...... Opinions welcome on my wainscoting idea.

Side note what is the easiest free site to host images, before I used photobucket but it crashed, and all other forums I am on I can host them there on the site.
