I've been at this for 2 years. Pinching pennies. The wall block salvaged from a construction project, form boards milled by my neighbor from a spruce that fell in our creek. And child labor of course.

If I were you I would at least get the roof on and shingled as soon as possible. That way everything isn't getting wet all the time.

Salvage panel and breakers, even some of the wire and receptacles. Stained hardi with a semi-trasparent left over from the house in 2009. To get the look I like it needs to be sprayed heavy while laying flat.

I notice your sheathing appears awful close to the ground. What are your plans for managing water to avoid it wicking up the wall?

Depending on what part of the state you're from, did you mean to say, "...a spruce that fell about 350' away from our creek?"

12 foot walls so I stood up 12 foot sheets. Supposably less shear value but I'd like to see that field tested as this method is fully perimeter screwed attaching the top and bottom plates. WAAAAAAYYY oversanded resulting in a furry finish. Oops. Back man door is a salvage and windows were clearance. Garage door was a craigslist deal.

Hahaha! not a fish bearing stream and with the timberland conversion there is some leeway in repairian areas......I hope
Finish grade should provide a 6" foundation exposure perhaps 4-5 with siding overhang. Gutters and 2' eves will help too.

A mess is right! Wish my shop vac wasn't on loan. I think Ill be buying my wife a new vacuum. Ground 3x and have pressure washed 4x. Epoxy will be here next week!

Thanks! The siding on the house is hardi. This stuff is Allura. I used Masons Select "duckback" semi trasparent stain I had left over from the house. I believe they have changed their product now. I sprayed it prior to hanging. 2 coats- heavy so it would settle in the low areas.

I sprayed vapor barrier on the ceiling. Is that inadequate? That is how the house was done but I do have attic moisture in the winters. I have powered attic fans for the house now. Haven't blown insulation in the shop yet. I tend to salvage out of necessity. I don't have much patience, just less money.

What’s sprayed vapour barrier? I think you answered your questions about it being adequate if you have moisture in winters. Attic fans shouldn’t be needed if proper flow is there and vapour barrier is sufficient.

Sprayed vapor barrier seems commonplace here. My moisture issues are likely from leakage around recessed lighting and unused hvac ceiling registers.

Finished the epoxy floor today. I wish I would have mixed the non-slip additive instead of sprikling. My wife saved my sons footprints from walking in the wet concrete.

Thanks LX it seems like the finish line is always just around the bend.
I did get some cabinets in, topped with 1/8" steel. The other one will probably be formica with a utility sink. I haven't decided what to do for hot water. I ran a 110v for a 2.5 gallon and a 30amp for instant( should have run #8 for 40amp)
The lights under the shelf really helped. My 5k LEDs seem a bit inadequate at under 40 lumens per sq/ft.

Wow that's a hell of a work bench! Talk about some wiiiiiiiiide drawers! They remind me of blueprint/flat file cabinets, very well done.

Thanks Dan. Your right on the money!! Old bluebrint cabinets. They are 37" deep so it will make any shelving a bit rough but we'll see.

Thanks Warren. I hunt as much as I can, 2 yrs into a new job so I'm hoping for some time off this season. No real trophies to speak of but usually some meat in the freezer. I need lots of time in the woods to compensate for my lack of skill.

Got a countertop built for a utility sink. I can't believe how expensive the install kit for the woodstove is. The boat is finally inside taking up space.
