Slow progress since I have done 90% of the work myself. Even set one of the 40' LVL truss headers solo. I swear I spend more time going up/down a ladder than working!

Tell me about it, every time it starts to dry out it down pours for a short period. Just long enough to get the clay all wet again. Getting really tired of having my boots twice the size as normal!

Update, barn progress slowed down with the installation of a new 24' pool. No it doesn't take 3 hrs to install with me doing it. Used my rotary laser to level 12"x12" pavers for the legs to stand on, 5K lbs of sand in the middle and I still wish I had just excavated the whole thing out and back filled with sand and this is just for a Intex pool!

Walls are all squared up and corner braced. Truss over hand installed on the ground and as I'm typing this it just dawned on me I forgot to install the horizontal girts for the steel
Well at least the other end truss is still on the ground.

We need a facepalm smiley...

12' tall by 11' wide.
Tall enough I can drive the backhoe in without letting the boom down.

Well have most of the little odds and ends buttoned up with framing.
Will have the other end truss set this weekend.

Talked with a few contractors to finish the project at this point. They will set the remaining 19 inner trusses, sheating, roofing, wall steel, man doors and soffits.
Labor around $3100.

Wife is really pushing me to get someone to finish it up at this point. She is just cringing for the first time I fall off from the top.

It is a safety issue handling 14-24' pieces of steel solo....

Yes I'm bringing this one back from the dead, but I'm curious how this one came out. I agree moving those long pieces of metal solo is not good. Three of my brothers, my father, and I roofed two houses this summer on my parents farm and those were tough to do with all of us. I wouldn't want to even think about doing it solo.

Sorry I missed you post.
I did have a crew finish it up for me.

Here are a few current pictures with the barn, pool and deck done. Currently working my way around the old garage/house with new sheathing, wiring, insulation and siding.

BTW, wife just took out two lower door panels on the left OH door with the tractor roll bar.

I've never seen big rolls like that looks easy?? We're did u get that how much..are the r values the same....

I have a 1" nat gas line buried to the building but haven't hooked it up yet.
Leaning towards a 60K HE home furnace so I doesn't draw combustible fumes from inside the shop. Plus I can use a 4" concentric vent kit and only have one hole in the wall for a PVC pipe.

Came out great. How do you like the lift?

Really liked the lift but sold it to kevin54.
Bought another from the same manufacturer but a clear floor and extra foot of width.
EDIT: I see both lifts are pictured but I'm sure you get the idea.

R-19, 6" bought it from a Morton buildings contractor.
It is John Manville PEBS blanket, I think it was ~$130/roll.

I had to Google "concentric vent kit" as I wasn't sure what it was. I have seen them before on the outside of homes but didn't realize that was them. Looks like a great idea and better start getting busy, Winter will be here soon.

We are selling it and moving to Tennessee.

So I get to start from scratch, yet again but this time there won't even be a house on the property.
