8' on center poles 6x6
2' on center 2x4"s
Let me start out by giving you the specs of the building. 30x48x14. Back section has a 12x30 loft. 6x6 poles 8' on center. 2' on center truses.
This is my dads building. We're going to put up a wall down the center and have 2 separate bays. One will be a workshop with a hoist. The other side will be a clean room where I can detail cars. I'm 20 and he's looking to help me out. I've been detailing on the side for Over a year now. I work 60 hour weeks at a full time job and detail cars after work. I'm hoping to open my own business someday. Anyway let's get to the point.
My main question is how should we go about insulating this? I've read a few threads but didn't come up with too much. We're from Michigan. We see -10 temps easily in the winter. But normally not that cold. My dad thinks some 1 1/2 foam between the 2x4s with some osb and steel over it will be good but that doesn't seem like enough to me? What do you think/suggest?? We're on a budget so spray is out of the question. We want cheap but good if that's possible.
We're also looking at options for heating. Both sides will be heated but my side more often. We're wondering if one big heater with ducts running through the roof going to both sides would work or two smaller heaters would be better? The heaters will be natural gas.
I appreciate any help you guys have. I'm just trying to figure out what's best. Thank you
