Hi,
I am getting a 30x50x12 metal building for around $9500 or so, but 30x30 will be enclosed while the 30x20 will be open. It will have one 10' roll up door and a side door.
The 30x30 will be my workshop while the 30x20 will be where I pull my 20' trailer and a project truck under. I will park my farm tractor in the shop when I am not using it or when I am not in the shop.

I am hoping the 30x30 will be big enough for what I am needing. I've never really had a shop before or a good area to work on stuff. I MAY close the 20' off later down the road and buy a separate shelter to park my trailer/tractor implements. But for now the 30x30 will be my workshop to weld, etc. I will have a 30x30 concrete pad put down.

What my shop will consist of is:
I plan to get an air compressor, plasma cutter, mig welder, drill press, bench grinder, welding table, and AC/DC welder.
I will also have a sink, plan to do some counters and a storage area for oils and stuff.

My questions are:
What's the best layout for the shop?
What's the best way to wire this? I guess I will need several 220V plugs and several 120v plugs. What amp breakers should I use?

Any opinions and suggestions?

Thanks

What do you want to do in this shop? That will dictate responses. What hobbies, what kind of work will be done. Your general location will help as well (a southorn cali shop will be able to use outdoors space year round, a norther snow state will need to have everything possible inside all winter).

This board has tons to offer. Use a google image search using the site feature (site:garagejournal.com search terms) to get a ton of ideas for each step of your build.

Implements?
Meaning Farm machinery?
More than one project going at a time?
Yes, you need to elaborate for us!

Im in South Georgia.

I will be working on farm equipment of mine from time to time. I will also be doing fabricatiom stuff for my project vehicles and my daily driver and just random metal works.

I may...just may do a few wood projects but want to avoid that since wood and sparks dont mix. Thats why later I was planning to enclose the other 20' and make it a wood shop.

One project at the time hopefully.

Thanks guys
