Hi Folks,
After months of researching, I have settled on a 30x56 pole barn build. We searched all of the different options and ultimately settled with a Morton build. During final negotiations, Morton was able to come within or budget and I believe the materials will be top notch. We are very excited for the project to start.
Details:
30x56x14’ with 8’ wraparound porch with approximately 16’ on gable and side.
Wainscot and cupola
12x12’ overhead
Walk door
6 windows
Full interior concrete with 20’ apron in front of the overhead and concrete under the length of porch.
20’ UDrain in concrete with pit
Rough in for plumbing
200amp electric service and panel
TK LS hard and guard floor sealer for interior concrete
We will not be insulating and steel finishing it immediately, that will come in a year or two when funds allow.
My question for the group here, what options or extra features should I be mindful of during the build? I’ve researched quite a bit and believe I have most of my bases covered. I’m still up in the air on in floor heat, but I have time to decide that before July/August. Usually, I plan to keep it about 40 degrees in the winter with periods of warmer temps when I am working in the building. Propane forced air might be a better option for me, not sure yet.
The building will be primarily used for compact tractor and implement storage, boat storage, workshop, and general storage.
Any recommendations from the group here on items I may be missing in the build planning?
Brent
