32x24 Build

Initial Design is complete, attaching renderings here.

Will be a 32x24, 12' ceilings on the first floor, attic trusses with a loft for storage/man cave upstairs.

Open questions are:
a) Where to put the bathroom? Options are (1) Downstairs tucked under stairs or (2) upstairs on the far end away from the stairs. Thinking (1) is only real option...
b) Height - architect says I can go higher as I am well below height restrictions. I know everyone here is going to say "bigger is better", but how much extra $$ is 14' ceilings vs 12'?
c) Second floor loft - would it matter much if I mirrored the design front to rear vs. how it is depicted now (dormer on front side only). Guesses on % cost difference for this?

I think I am pretty good with the rest of the design, but definitely open to any other suggestions!

Project is progressing. I have scheduled some builder interviews.

Question 1: Could anyone recommend a reputable builder in Southeast Michigan for this project? I am in Western Wayne County.

Question 2: I searched but could not find a consolidated list of questions to ask? I have some ideas but was looking for some expert input.

I assume the bathroom is a 1/2 bath? Under the stairs (if it fits ok) or behind the stairs seems like best place for 1/2 bath.
