looking for recommendations for heat in new shop area. size is 32x32x16. walls and ceiling are finished with metal siding. walls are insulated with 2" ridged foam. ceiling insulated with faced r30. have a 30k btu mr heater in old 28x28x9 wood framed garage that was blanket insulated and it worked well there. concerned about heating with extra height in new shop using a bigger btu mr heater type system. was leaning toward radiant tube. what do you guys think? thanks.

Nice shop. With the tall ceilings, you may want couple ceiling fans up there to push heat back down.

I'd go with both . . . use your old 30K hanging Big Maxx heater for general heat to keep garage above freezing (assume that it's natural gas). Then I'd go with radiant to put the heat where you'd most likely be working the most. Radiant would heat you and parts/tools so you'd enjoy the space even more. Good luck.
