Nice build! What I wouldn't give to have that much room. The heated floor is pretty cool. I've never been in a home with heated floors, let alone a garage. I bet it's pretty nice when it's cold out. Judging by your pics, it get pretty cold up there.

I like the doors. Extremely nice build. Good job.

We can't install floor drains in garages where I live. Those are very nice units you used. The tree huggers.... eeer, environmentalists, think it is bad for the environment.

I grew up in northern Maine near Houlton. My grandfather and I used to fish the Miramachi. He was from Canterbury NB originally, but moved to Maine about 90 years ago. I'm over 60 now. I still have some distant relatives there in NB.

Thats awesome! As they say "Its a small world!", I actually live right on the Miramichi River and am located halfway between Fredericton and Miramichi City (NewCastle/Chatham amalgimated)

Im not really legally allowed to install floor drains either but I did anyway :) . I will never dump anything down them thats harmful to the envirnment or my ground water well, I'd only be damaging my own property. Just incase I have a spill though, I have a nice spill kit that I can contain it with.

I'm not allowed to put in floor drains either... So I didn't. But who's to say I don't do an engine swap then just wash all the chemicals right out the garage door.

Silly rules are only there so they can fine you for it later...

Garage looks awesome! All these in floor heating systems. I probably should have put it in. But I've this long without it, Can't say that I'll miss it.

Nice build man... I'm envious of your in-floor heat... I should have done that in my barn... :( Oh well, "barn #2".... :)

Nice to see another chap on here from NB... I'm just outside Fredericton.

I am very impressed with the trim work. I don't know why, but I never realized that was possible with trim coil and a flashing brake. Now I have visions of doing the same thing to my shop.

One question: How do you cap the ends of the crown moldings on the windows and doors?

Nice work!

Me too, I live outside of Fredericton about 40 min on highway 8 if you're ever up for a garage tour?

Thanks for the kind words on my build...I almost didn't do the in-floor but the more I thought about it the more I kept telling myself "you only live once and you're going to have it a long time so why not do it the way you want while your at it?", I know those words can get a man in lots of trouble, but this is one case where I went with it. :)

Nice work!

Thanks for the nice compliments, much appreciated! Its hard to describe how I did it, but I still have 2 more to do on my mud room wall in the next week or so and I'll be sure to take step by step pics with a breif description.

Great build and pictures.

I like the almond, keep it.

Thank you for your compliments and input, much appreciated!

That would be very much appreciated, as well as a little detail on how you attach it to the building. I am a detail freak, so little stuff like this really catches my eye.

More progress today, I finally finished the stone siding on the mudroom exterior wall.

I still have to finish putting styrofoam and more of this stone siding on the foundation around the house, but that wont be untill spring.

Awesome build. Now the important question...how much $$$ have you got into it at this point!?! I'm looking at adding another 32x36 to my existing 24x24 attached garage.
Btw, my wife love the white corners on the siding. Very sharp.
Again...great build and great pics! tks for sharing.

Thank you as well!

As for the amount so far, I dont really have an exact figure to date, but I would say Im a bit over $40 000...probably 41-42K so far. Nothing has been insulated yet and I plan to competely finish it inside. I should also mention that most of the wiring has been done and the 200A breaker panel has been installed. I figure I'll have 50-60K in it by the time Im done in early summer.

Also keep in mind that this is basically all materials and very little labour in this price as 99% of the work has been done by myself and a few volunteers. If I had to pay someone to build it all the way I am, I figure it would probably cost me 100K.
