I have one question. Not just for you, but everyone who does it.
Why have a "short" door?? You can always fit short vehicles in a tall opening. Doesn't work the other way around.

Not sure the rules of quoting your own words, but I am still wondering why you had different sized doors.

sorry i didnt see it. i put the one door shorter just in case i wanted to use above the door for storage. no real reason. its still 10' tall. thats descent size considering my 3/4 diesel with 8" of lift and 37" tires fits just fine. so does my snowmobile trailer that has 7' interior height. remember this is for working on stuff not storage. if i ever need to ill rip the header out and put in a bigger door. i already did it on my smaller garage. turned out pretty nice too. the 12' door is a waste 99.9% of the time. but just in case i need it i have it.

Sorry guys, i haven't been checking in much of late. I will try to explain it again. When you look from the top down on the metal it looks like this:

Normally you see it from this side so the ribs stick out and the most of the metal lays flat against the framing.

-----------------^-------------------^-----------------^----------------

When you have it reverse rolled the finished side is this side so when you put a bench up against it most of the flat of the panel is at the back of the bench. I put the metal on the walls in August of 1994 and they are still it great shape.

I have tried to attach a picture of the shop, this my first attempt at this, hopefully it works. If you look at the interstate batteries sign you can see how much of it is against the panel. This is the best pic I have of this. The shop is my dad's, he lives in Michigan. I live in Virginia. Hopefully this will help.

knixon804, your shop looks great and think you will really like the metal on the walls. How close is south boardman to kalamazoo?

Sounds good to me. I should be up that way for a long weekend in mid May for a buddy's wedding(the one with the giant black Dodge) and may be able to swing by if you're around

The shop looks great, I would like to put metal on my ceiling like that before I hang lights. Everything is super nice. Good thinking designing the trusses to capture the room up there for a usable space.

well since there is heat and lights in there we have slowed down a little bit so we can wheel and snowmobile while MI has snow  here is a pic from tonight trying out my new electric power washer. LOVE IT! we still have the scaffolding set up in there because we just got done doing all the ceiling work and now finishing up the car lift. Also scored some old bank cabinets for inside my garage. one even has a safe in it. i got the com and keys to go with! FREEBIE! We will be finishing up the rest of the stuff soon when the snow melts. i will keep you guys posted

Wow! That is one nice shop that you have built. I am planning a 30x48x14 that i will build this summer. If you dont mind me asking, how much did the attic trusses add to the cost of the building over conventional trusses. Seeing your upstairs has made me consider doing the same to mine.

how stable does your jeep sit on the lift? I put mine up and it rocks a little bit, yours seems about the same size as mine... I have leaf spring perches I need to put the arms in between so that narrows the pick points a little.

Nice shop, it didn't take long to fill it up. Ha Ha Any updates on the loft?
It's just storage as of now. Going to start on the loft in about a month hopefully!

Mine is fine. Do a lot of work on that thing!!

Here's a pic from last night. Both jeeps fully built! Seems like I am always modding something

Sorry guys haven't been on here in a while. I don't have any blue prints of my shop.
Nothing I would really change other than I'd like to spend more time in there :)
