I’ve got this building that I had constructed at the beginning of 2020. It is set up for floor heat and a bathroom in one corner. I’ve got 3 12x14 doors on the east side. I had a large window installed up high on the south end as well. I feel I’m on the right track for the shop of most people’s dreams but I need interior ideas. I’m thinking of going with all white metal and a tv under the large south window. Will probably have toolboxes and cabinets along the south wall with a welder. Also plan on having a large table I can roll around and hopefully a four post lift. I’ve got the electrical all roughed in. Any thoughts? I will try to upload pictures.

What a great blank canvas. My only thought on the TV under south window... unless you're putting a shade over the window or only watching TV after sunset, you'll have a bright glare into your eyes.

I agree it has gone flawlessly this far and I’m very satisfied. I’ve read and I know some do not like all metal walls but some do. I think it would look best. I plan on metal and wood work along with automotive activities but I’d also like to keep it decent enough for a hangout with a fridge and barstools around a rolling table. I’m not crazy bout the idea of a workbench. Will probably have a rolling table or two and some toolboxes and cabinets along the south wall with the big window. Also planned out having the bathroom in the corner where the tape is on the floor and I’m thinking of trying to have the boiler and plumbing all in the corner bathroom/closet area with storage on top of it.

Me..I can understand music maybe but not a TV, unless it's more of a hang out than garage. If the lift is on one side the other sides I would have had an upstairs loft.

My 32x56 is wired for a tv, but I don’t have one after 8 years. I’m usually busy while in the shop....and I like my fingers where they are.....

Got plans for the lift on the north side opposite the window. I really don’t think I want a loft/mezzanine even though the shop is tall enough for one. Will probably just have a small storage area on top of the bath/boiler room... tv would be for hang out purposes plus I like to do endurance activities like running and biking so I may have a treadmill or bike in there so I can do that when I’m on call or when it’s nasty outside and cozy in the shop... I might have some cool guns and posters etc. hanging but I feel like it’s got to the hard part.

That's a fantastic space!

One thing I've found: No matter how big the garage is, you'll quickly expand to fill the space and be left wanting more.

Oh...forgot...I would have an alarm system also. Very important.

Very nice looking shop, I really like the exterior siding colors. Any plans for the floor? Enjoy your shop!

No floor plans except some rough ideas of where I want things. The only thing i think I might need yet is wiring to electric boxes for ceiling fans. Would ceiling fans be worth it in this space? Or just plan on box fans for summer air movement?

How did you do the concrete supporting the poles? Is that a grade beam with pole brackets inserted in? Is the floor tied to the grade beam or does it float inside?
