I need to purchase a 34" slab. This is for a back door on my house. The jamb is fine, but the slab needs replacing. None of the local box stores even stock 34" prehung.

I see "National Door Company" on Amazon but I've never heard of them?? I'd like to keep the cost under $400 all in. I need one with a decent amount of glass and a decent R rating.

Suggestions?

TIA

Big-box stores have odd tendencies IMHO.

Try a real building supply store, or one of those building salvage places that carry used/overstock doors.

Don't ask.
34" is usually a special order at any store. Shouldn't take long to get one as they probably have them in distribution centers.
Most places stock 32" or 36".

Yes, Yes, and Yes. ^ If you just want a plain slab, any respecatable millwork should be able to get you one in a few days. 34" can be had, even from the big box stores, in just about any style, but you'll have to wait longer the fancier you get with the style.

You can choose a 34" door only using Menard's door designer. I see 19 choices for a 34x80 door.

Typically the glass on a slab door is an insert -- so you have lots of possibilities.
