Concrete footings are being poured Thursday and the forms for the walls should be in by Monday. I’m still undecided on the garage door and walk in door layout. I originally wanted a large garage door (16’-18’) and a small garage door (9’-10’) on the eave side which will face my driveway. My wife doesn’t walk 3 doors because she thinks the garage is going to look too big. So I’m going to have 2 small garage doors (9’-10’ wide) and a 36” walk in door on the eave side.

I’m trying to figure out spacing so I can tell the concrete contractor.

One bay will have my s10 parked in it, and eventually it will go up on a 4 post lift so i can park another car under it. The second bay I would like to park my wife’s car. The other area will be the workshop area.

How should I space the doors out?

I was thinking something like one of these garages.

I think a window next to the walk in door would look nice too and give me more workshop area before the garage door.

If it was me I would want as much space as possible between the garage door and wall and at about that much space between garage doors but I haven't built my pole building yet to know if that's a good idea

4'-10'-4'-10'-2'-3'-2'. I think the entry door could go on the side to space out the car doors too. I want to tell you that space will fill up so fast. Can you not add a few feet to the back for a real work area?

One 18 ft door + a man door would be my plan. We don't know how yours is laid out on your lot but I have a small window over my work bench that let's me look out toward the driveway. I really like that when I hear a car or ups truck coming up the drive.

I’m thinking that spacing is close to what I want.

Man door on the left side though.

Starting from left to right.this was the other configurations I’m thinking about
3’-3’-3’-10’-3’-10’-3’

Is the workshop area walled off and have you done a layout for that space?

I’m wasn’t planning on walling it off. That way I can back out the car and use the middle bay when working on larger projects.

Having done this, if you're putting in shelves, you need to consider how wide the are, how deep they are and where you want them - this may impact door placement.

The 35ft side will be facing my house and driveway. So if I do a layout similar to my this garage, it will allow me to see the everything with windows in the garage doors and walk in door.

Good point. Right now all my shelving and cabinets are 30” or less deep. I don’t like deeper shelving as things get lost. I like the idea of keeping the garage door 48” away from the wall. That gives me 40” once I factor in the foundation wall thickness. I could go 42”. That give me enough room to work on my truck and still have room for a bench, etc.
