Not trying to outdo Merk on nutty fleabay sales posts, but WTF is going on here? :headscrat

The seller clearly states it's "just a pen, not a working ratchet" in the first line of his description. Are these things actually rare? I thought I've seen them many times in the past while surfing thru other listing searches.

Am I correct in assuming these pens were freebie giveaways from Snappy, or included with a particular promo purchase or few? Or at most a few bucks off the truck individually?

Not bad for $36.Its also a collectors item a rare one at that.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the $100 range.

someone really wanted that
it is kind of cool I must say, however if you really want cool they could make an actual ratchet that has the pen feature in it.
that way you can write up the estimate, fix the car, and then finalize the invoice all with the same tool

Our SO guy was selling a combo that had a 1/2"(?) wrench and instinct screwdriver as pens back around Christmas. Cheap plastic, not metal. Couldnt sell any. He ended up giving them away with tool purchases to our PDI guys. All they do is paperwork anyway...
