36x48 in Virginia

Hi Guys,

Well I finally made a decision after many years of wanting a detached garage/workshop and now construction is well under way. I was looking at a 30x40 but my wife was telling me to go as big as I could. I researched a 40x60 but unfortunately this was out of my price range. I decided that a 36x48 would both fit my needs and meet my budget.

After getting many estimates I decided to go with
a company from Harrisnburg VA called Superior Buildings and so far they've done an excellent job. Here are some pictures of the progress.

Time to get the floor installed. I had 8 loads of stone delivered from the local quarry. They are 3 miles away and offer local residents a friendly neighborhood discount. The stone is free we just have to pay delivery, $30 per load.

After having 8 loads deposited in the driveway the concrete guys showed up. I decided to go with 3500psi concrete with fibermesh, 6" deep and wire mesh.

The concrete looks great so far, i am thinking about finishing it with HD37 densifier and then HD40 stainguard.

The garage floor was poured yesterday, it will have a few days to start to cure before next week when the electrician turns up to work his magic. We are steaming along now.

Great looking shed !! Having a wife with an attitude like that is a wonderful thing. Don't make her angry !!!

That's a wise response from your wife, but still a gracious gesture. Tell her the guys on Garage Journal are impressed. It can't be too large

Thanks guys,

The wall height is 14'. I plan on having a 2 post and 4 post lift so I wanted plenty of height.
