I just joined here. Now that I have made some progress on building my shop I wanted to share the build and the costs. I will continue to update this post with more costs as I go. The design:
-36x48x13
-Post holes 2'x4'. 8" footer underneath, encased in concrete
-3 ply glu lam posts 8' OC
-LVL beam notched into posts
-Trusses 4' OC 4-12 Pitch
-12x11 garage door and 10x11 garage door on ends
- Primary use will be automotive, metal shop, wood shop
-Insulation and Interior someday....
-Heated Floor someday....
"Paper Costs":
Plans: $825 through South Valley Engineering ($575 std + $250 to engineer with LVL beam)
Soil Test: $1000
Permit: $750
Material Costs:
Lumber
-Posts: 20x 18' Total $2436
2x 16' Total $232
-Boards:
-Trusses: $2718
Rentals
-SkidSteer: Free
-24" Auger $95
-Genie Boom Lift 2 days $477
Concrete
