Hey everyone,
Hope it was a good Christmas for you

I do some painting from time to time on mostly farm equipment, never been too picky with the results and just used cheaper hvlp guns. I'm planning on doing a tractor this spring when it warms up, and wan't to get a new gun and very interested in the 3M accuspray gun with the pps system(disposable liners and lids)

Anyone use this? I'll be honest, i'm not the best with the clean up and end up spending a bunch of time later on trying to clean to get the guns working properly again. I'm thinking this would help with that and it would take less thinner to clean afterward. The other thing is it seems a lot quicker for small jobs etc. I don't do a whole lot of painting so the cost of the cups and stuff while not cheap, wouldn't add up a huge amount for me.

Just wondering what you guys think

That's exactly what I do.
I like it a lot for the easy cleanup.
I find up try to clean the cups as I go to use again this defeats the purpose.
I'm sure someone will pipe in here to explain the difference in the new vs old cup system.
There are aftermarket cups for the old system with mixed reviews.
I would buy it again, especially useful for 2 part paint and primers.

I use the Devilbiss DeKups system, which is the same thing, but cheaper for the disposable parts. I think you can buy an adapter for any gun - even the harbor fright gun - for either system.

One of my paint guns came with a trial PPS - I don't know whether it was new or old - but it didn't seem to work any better than DeKups, so I stuck with that.

Now as far as using it with a DIY - I think it makes a lot of sense - even more than for a professional. It cuts the cleaning time of a gun from 30 minutes down to about 5 minutes. DeKups also allows you to spray upside down - which is a nice feature. I haven't found any drawbacks yet. I bought both the 28 ounce cups and the 9 ounce cups. I use the smaller ones most of the time for small jobs - I can do 1-2 car panels or a hood and bumper on 9 ounces easily.
