just bought a 3M roloc scotchbrite stripping disc # 07466.
The roloc mount is different than all my other rolocs.
The new one has a shaft about 1/2" longer.
I called 3M and asked if the disc arbor can be trimmed to fit the old Roloc.
So far no solution from them.
Im using the roloc adapters to fit my Rodac air tools with a 7/16"x24 spindle.
3M doesnt seem to have an adpater to fit the longer Roloc, which tech told me is
called 3M Roloc +.
Trim it and call it good? I dont want to waste a $20 disc if it doesnt work.

K13 I looked into that also
no way to adapt to a spindle of an air powered grinder that has 7/16"x24 thread.
3M now sees the problem and has handed it off to the engineering dept.
heres the 3M adapter I use
Its got 7/16"x24 threads to adapt the spindle of Rodac grinder to the 3M roloc

OP, I have the trumpet holder you have,

The new 07500 holder appears to be more of a barrel, but same number.

The questions I have are whether the old one can depth added. And if they decided against just going with a newer, non-reverse-compatible design.

I do believe the new is better for larger dia. discs.

does it work cutting the numb off to duplicate the old rolocs?
I can try it with an old one tomorrow and see what happens. We use Norton wheels but they use that same attachment as the 3M. The 3" wheels from Norton have the standard roloc vs the 4" with the special one.

please do so and report back the results.
The 3M tech and I both surmise that the design change was due to the larger diameter and side loading
causing failure of attachment.
