So about 2 years ago we closed on our house here in Las Vegas. It took close to 2 years to be able to find a house and win the bid. So with that we got most of the items on our list of requirements. But for me one thing i wasn't giving up was garage space.

Now after living in my 2 car garage in SC and always needing space, i knew from then on that I would need at a min. a 3 car. So after that it was a requirement. (the wife knew this)

side the wife Tahoe normally sits
IMG_7619.jpg

the over the garage door shelves that i built, the one on the side i just built this weekend. i am gonna surround most of the garage with this type of shelf as this is the best place for stuff in bins.

this is the tandem side that i normally park the Dodge on
026bc7f8-bdf3-47c9-968d-320f6aa38aa2.jpg

Just for my record in the last 2 wks i was able to add the following tools:

DeWalt 10" Miter Saw
Miter Saw stand
DeWalt 20v Grease gun
DeWalt 20v 1/2" 400ft/lb impact
DeWalt 20v angle grinder
Dremel 4000
Dremel acc kit
Air bake bleeder
Also got 10 oil filters/5 fuel filters
and a couple more things all for $300 out of pocket.

Odd shape, hope you make the best of it. I wish I had that over the 1 car I have packed full. What are the plans?

yea its a pain honestly. But it has worked out as i can park the wife 2012 Tahoe and my 2017 ram 2500 Mega cab in it with out any problems.

As far as plans go i really need to find something for the floor. and then i need to buy a bigger tool box as i have tools in way to many places.

Nice score. By the looks of the cardboard floor mat, hope you are buying oil too. 2017 leaking something?

Yea that pic was taken when i still had the 06. I was changing the oil on it. that has been sold and now the 17 is i its place. no leaks, but i did install a leveling kit today.

Well I hardly ever post anything in here. Mostly due to the fact taking pictures never cross my mind.

But for our anniversary the wife talked me into getting this, and for half off why not. Great box and has tons of room
View attachment 753959

With that set I decided to build a simple stand for the washer/dryer. For $100 and I got to purchase a electric paint sprayer
View attachment 753960

With all that this weekend I decided it was time to do a complete detail of the wife’s ride. Some of the stuff used
IMG_1508.jpg

With about 12 hrs of work I am ok with the outcome. Not bad for a 2012
IMG_1509.jpg
Hood
IMG_1510.jpg
Fender
IMG_1511.jpg

And finally one of the best tools that I waited way to long to buy. Really helps with doing the roof
IMG_1512.jpg

And if any body cares the paint correction was completed using the following steps

1-Wash to strip old wax off
2- dry and then clay bar
3- 1st stage of light compound
4- 2nd stage final compounding
5- apply 1st pass of wax
6- apply 2nd pass of wax on hood, front bumper, roof, front fenders

Now I have the wheel wells and rims and tires to clean then apply trim products

Finally decided to update this.

So decided to put the tv we have had in the closet in the garage.

Also bought the arc for $250 and changed the oil in the air compressor

Well finally got a better pic of the last truck I worked on
26b0baa7c461df344b6a6216473ca813.jpg

Saturday is my normal day for car detailing at the house

RAM cleaned inside and out
c55d2243f6719594c6426b9cde99dbea.jpg

Tahoe cleaned inside and out
efb4abb51f2894bab0fb496fa7655673.jpg

Lexus got the out side cleaned up
6ea0fec211a921504089b3ae7ee7ab00.jpg

Also got my daughters cleaned up
14d9cecf0f89dd0a3c2f9e4552ebf971.jpg

Other projects for the day was
Change the brake fluid in the Lexus, replaced the low beam bulbs cause one keeps going in and out also noticed it needs all new shocks, and a complete brake job. Looks like a lot of performance parts will be coming in. Still no bad for 212K

Also looked at the cabin air filter on the Ram. After the last trail ride it needs replaced. New on is on the way.

Also put rear pads on a coworkers car today. I replaced the fronts a couple months ago.

Took the money from the brake job and purchased some missing sockets in my set

Well just to keep things going: in the last week I was somewhat busy

My best friend from high school drove down from CO to pick up his enclosed trailers that I found for him. He has a 2009 2500 Ram Cummins that need a couple things fixed

- Replaced the front shocks rear arrived after he lift
- Changed his really bad brake fluid
- repaired the wiring in his driver rear door
- also discovered that the previous owner drillers 2in holes in the frame to mount the gooseneck plate. This has caused the frame to have crakes going 4 direction on both side

Then I replaced the 212k factory shocks on the wife daily with some new to me Coilovers
135320c2ea1ccb5763c024e8751e584d.jpg842987013ca9d858cebcc24257fc0fd8.jpg

Also changed the 70k brake fluid on my 2012 Tahoe

As with every weekend I wiped down the vehicles
d3e1ee093bf98525d11338c76e389f6b.jpg

Installed my new Safe Weight 10in drop hitch
8fbe0718d85e6ba59d44f98e95c21896.jpg

Then finally took a trip back to Lowe’s to see if they would honor the Craftsman warranty. Had a couple 1/2 drive ratchets that broke on me including the other 2 items

5be7378648c618158c61d80c4bc22d3b.jpg

Not only did I get better replacements the lady had to ring them up and then give me a gift card for the full amount. Aft wards she did the transaction and gave me my military discount. So I got free replacements and extra $10

Well another productive weekend in the garage

A couple months ago I ordered the timing belt service kit for the Lexus IS300.

Well decided today was a good day to knock out that job

27808cf7d7ecb4a5220f7c2882cefbd8.jpg9daf163c518cad8b82f59efd7761ad7f.jpg

Not really a lot of pics. Just wanted to knock out the job

So in short replaced the following:

- Timing belt
- Both timing belt tensioner
- Water pump
- Serp belt
- Thermostat
- all required seals
- started flushing the trans fluid
- VVT-I oil filter cleaned
- adjusted the throttle cable
- Cleaned the radiator
- Cleaned the condenser

Not to bad consider the car has 215K and everything was in amazing shape. Nothing looked concerning but now I have peace of mind that it’s all done and good for another 100K

Well pretty busy weekend. Stared out with replacing my in-laws hot water heater with a new tankless system. The one I replaced I install 5 years ago so it was under warranty

Got some 3D printed tool/battery mounts off eBay
Finally figured out a location to hang everything
752bd249ab26279235e6467241df64c6.jpg

Finally decided to was Ruby. Was a pretty good time until I discovered that the tailgate gate has some paint chips from the inside thangs to a half assed job from the factory

Other than that she cleans up amazingly thanks to the ceramic coat and a new layer of Jet Seal

Also did a spark plug Chang on the neighbors 2003 Jag S-Type. He was happy that it now runs way better than before

Well as with the life, I really don't update this much, but seeing that I no longer live in Vegas it was time.

The 3 car is no more and now have a 2 car garage. We moved into base housing and surprised to find out we have a 2 car garage. ***** to down size but the retirement home will be well equipped.

as soon as my tools and everything arrives ill update this with pics

seems like you made the best out of the limited space you were working with. Not to shabby

Glad to see Lowes is taking care - I haven't had any issues yet but I was curious how they would handle / honor it

Honestly I was expecting more of a fight. But they looked up what they though was the closest match to my original and that’s what I got.

Well been in the new house for about 5 months.

I don’t have a lot of pics of the garage I’ll try to fix that. But honestly it’s not to bad. We bought a 44ft race car trailer prior to leaving Vegas so I have been working on making it more of a camper than anything

Luckily both trucks fit, even the Mega Cab

Only pic of the setup. Built the shelf’s to the right of the wheel. Also built some shelf’s over the garage door

17c1c38dacee0dc071e308799bb0438b.jpg

Pic of the Mega with the trailer we bought. It is equipped with a shower, toilet, bed in the nose and a couch that folds down into a bed

4eebf2251072bf19da4425512014a248.jpg

Here are some addition I have made so far

Added a bunch of L-tack on the walls and floor
Moved the fold up couch from closet to the front to where you see it over the wheel well
The other couch has a hide away bed that was actually mean for the house but worked out for the trailer
adf1733fb72fb42a991771fbf4139d42.jpg

Here you can see how I laid out all the L-track. Got 17in pieces for like $2 a piece. Way cheaper than the standard lengths

73d8f726d44a6eea855191d3c49cf3a6.jpg

Installed the paper towel holder with nut zerts

4145e18cc68b4c2015235c33bd921c90.jpg
Found this fridge at Sam’s for $200. Added some mounts and door latches. Works perfect! Also the doors in the floor and tie downs for handles. They stuck up and was annoying. Found some straps and made handles out of it
be31ba6a3daf52527567f6db3ec7490f.jpg
So when the RV was mounted the first time you couldn’t plug the power cable in (outlet is to close and with the RV mount there not enough room). Picked up a flat surge protector and added some spacer to the RV mount to make room
c9bae569a57add4d6f17533dd6fe45fe.jpg
My buddy wanted his 18 Mega cab paint corrected and ceramic coated. Made him
Help me was and wax the trailer as payment we
70a7dde4b178c6d72edd1ab2fdf86da5.jpg
Today found a guy selling the Camp Chef style grille I was wanting

Came with bags for everything but the large griddle

I didn’t know till I showed up that he had the half griddle and bag
7d40f7aadee7f35253577e73c08b11cd.jpg

Not only that but he also gave me both of theses brad nailers. He was clearing stuff out to sell his house and start RV’ing full time

I know it’s kinda long but this kinda brings everything up to date. Not to continue buying trailer stuff for our up coming trip

Here are some of the things I worked on I t he new garage

Found a guy selling a roll bak cover with tool box. Took off my bifold in favor of this one

Actually sold my bifold to my buddy for his 18

Best of all I got to put my high lift jack and axe into the box and making room for my 2nd air tank on my built right industries rack

Since I wasn’t aware Ram suggests changing the diff fluid at 15k miles and my truck is sitting at 50k. I wanted to change the fluid in favor of some Amsoil 75-140. Still looked good to me

Had an Airman want some rock lights installed on his truck. No problem

With the wife’s Tahoe sitting at 80k and almost 10 years old I wanted to Change the belts. Also installed the 08 style a/c belt and tensioner vs that dumb stretch belt

Also ever once in awhile I would hear the bearing make a noise. Swapp everything for new

And thanks to the VA inspection. They informed me that I had a bad motor mount ( been chasing this noise for 2 years). Replaced the stupid fluid filled stock ones for some H3 mounts.

Also worked on my wiring in my Mega. I added a 2nd air compressor and hated all the wiring going to the batteries. So this is me starting to redo a lot of the wiring and installing a aux fix box

Well today was pretty busy with a couple different items to knock out

About a month ago I order the wife a subwoofer set up for her Tahoe that ended up being to big for her liking. (Sent back). After some research I found a smaller box that fits between the 2nd row captains chairs
b4b166c2f3181f56e5d129b9ef7a6f82.jpg

After installing I wasn’t much movement from the sub. After about 2hrs of looking and probing with my Fluk meter I found out that I had the power wire and remote wire swapped, and also that on of the 1 RCA’s at the back of the head unit wasn’t connected and the other was half way out. Corrected and back to more bass

2nd job of the day was to finish installing the Nico sound deadening to the door of the Ruby ( my mega cab).

Amazing how much better the doors sound afterwards!

Last job was something I wasn’t looking forward to. With the new trailer I wanted some good stabilizing pads. Bought a set off Amazon and of course there just hard plastic(ok for under the tires)

Well after some research I found an article about using a horse stall mat from TSC. Of course they where sold out till I just so happen to go there yesterday.

Well after about 45 mins
I had 2 stacks of 18 pads that are 12X8.

Had some random metal that I decided to make a couple stands with handles.

But I found out that my old Mac welder is trash. Time for a new one

CRUISINLUMB, nice write up... I have a 2013 tahoe & noticed you switched out the factory headlights? I am looking to do the same. I curious about how you like them & what type you got?
thanks!

well I follow other peoples threads more than my own. But now that I am officially retiring from AD, they have a new program that allows us to complete an internship up to 180 prior to retirement. with that we are headed back to Vegas for that. but the goal is to retire in Houston TX. ill be packing most of my tools/pew pews with me in the new camper and the rest will be put in storage.

with that's lets list out some updates over the last couple months:

- first off the new to us 2019 Styker 3513. it replaced our 2021 44ft racer trailer that I sold for a profit.

Trailer upgrades:

- removed/cleaned the legs from the previous owner using bearing grease on them
- made/installed a poop hose holder
- found a deal on an Andersen hitch lock, and installed the trailer chains
- added a color battery tender

Ruby (2017 Ram
- with new trailer and the trip back I decided to upgrade the fuel tank in Ruby for an S&B 52 gallon tank.
- added a couple more bulletproof industries mounts to hold the wires phone and my new tablet for gauges
- Ruby received a full detail, oil change, front diff fluid change, grease and ready for the road

Wifey Wagon (2012 Tahoe)
- Wifey wagon also got a new set of wheels since the other ones had issues. It also got a full detail, oil change, grease, power steering flush, wiper blade. ready for the road trip

and I started selling some of my yellow tools and replacing them with the red brand8EE3FC8C-D1B1-4E71-A508-49FAA8286CD6.JPGtempImagebosI3c.pngtempImageRPFHs6.pngtempImageFA73wk.pngtempImageCFzPI3.pngtempImageaqhdaM.pngtempImageq26KJ6.pngtempImageAxGZSQ.pngtempImagebrAV3K.png

well I can't believe its been 2 years since I last updated this thread. man how time flies. Well since the last update we moved back to Vegas and rented a house with a really small 2 car garage. Retired and started working for Rivian. After 6 months of working there in Vegas I finally got to transfer to the Houston TX center. so now that brings this up-to-date as far as time lines.

Well let’s see how well this update goes. Atleast I didn’t wait 2 years for this one. As I’m sure most are like me and prefer pics over the reading but here goes the update

After temporary staying in the camper from Nov 22- Jan 23 we finally closed on a new house and of course it has attached 3 car garage that’s pretty nice

The new house in Willis TX with a little over 1ac

69601136766__36CFD7AE-1422-4D29-AD4E-BFB17C147BEA.jpegIMG_0733.jpeg
With that first things first was to have the floors coated and of course the guy that came out ended up doing a **** job and ghosted me
IMG_6717.jpegIMG_6719.jpegIMG_6716.jpeg

But it’s ok for now. Well as with everything some upgrades where need right off the bat

Wife wanted some paint completed where the fire place was and also in the shoe area. Ignore the Feet

Now with that and some other minor stuff I got to install a decent internet server so Ubiquiti server and some of there wired cams

Also swapped all the motion lights for the Ring ones. And with both I have a back up for the other

With the pool came the need to fence in the back yard. This is something we got quotes for ranging anywhere from $17k-34k for your typical dog ear. Let’s just say I had a reason to buy some new tools. And with that I started the fence install. As a person that hates working with wood or even trying to build anything this has been a small challenge. In my first house I installed a typical dog ear fence with the help of some friends. This time it’s the wife and the I and her “Pinterest” fence idea

IMG_7681.jpeg72031030143__CCA41E35-3D48-4C4F-986D-CE388C260EBA.jpegIMG_7683.jpegIMG_7685.jpegIMG_7705.jpegIMG_7713.jpeg
And this pic shows all the privacy section that I have to take down and redo due to my lack of paying attention or being in a hurry
IMG_7774.jpeg

Where the privacy fence stops we are installing welded wire with picture frame design. Hopefully in the spring we will paint/stain it
IMG_7775.jpeg

This is where the fence stands as of tonight. And I still have about a pallet of material. I’m hoping that when it’s all said and done I’ll be less than $6k including tools

And with all this some upgrade for the additions include a robot to clean the pool, and a pre filter to help with the main filter system

IMG_7769.jpeg

And within the 2 days it has been installed it has been impressive the amount of stuff it catches

Also had the electrician install an outdoor plug that I can connect my air compressor or RV to when needed

Hoping that by Tuesday most of the fence is completed.

Other minor upgrades include:
- WiFi switches for the primary stuff in the kitchen
- 84’ fan in the living room
- full hose water softener
- Rachio irrigation controller
- wifi controlled soffit lighting
- Badboy ZT elite lawnmower
With that that’s pretty much where we are today
