4-1/2" Grinding Disc Quality

I'm looking at 25 packs of 4-1/2" grinding discs on Amazon and finding all the usual suspects- Norton, Dewalt, Forney, Pferd and one I've never seen- Walter. Any favorites among those names? I'm looking at standard type 27, 3/16 and 1/4 thick. I know Metabo slicer cutoff wheels are well liked on GJ but I didn't find any Metabo grinding wheels under Amazon prime.

Pferd and walter are the best. Norton is ok. Dewalts are decent but better than norton. Forney I'm not sure. I think I'll be buying the pearl redline or Sait wheels this year. I've never used them so it will be interesting. Also price wise anything under $2.00 per wheel is a good deal in my books.

Pferd is way better than dewalt. Took half of the time of the dewalts to grind down steel for welding and the discs lasted just as long.

I haven't been impressed with Dewalts either. I had one that was so far out of balance it was unusable. They get a lot of positive reviews on Amazon which makes me wonder if the reviewers have ever used anything else.

Thanks. I'm actually shopping for regular grinding wheels not cutoff wheels. I mentioned Metabo slicers in my original post thinking maybe Metabo offered a good quality grinding wheel too.

SAIT, Pearl Abrasives, Flex-o-vit, Norton Gemini, are the brands I'm familiar with. Never heard of Pferd.

I have used most of them. There isn't a huge night and day difference and what there is comes with a price. Only place I have seen any real juice is under heavy load and premium last a little longer. For general work, clean rust and paint and some slag or squaring it doesn't matter all that much.

I've never used Pferd abrasives, but their carbide burrs are the best you can buy.
Walter and Metabo are the tops when it comes to abrasives.
DeWalt is one step better than Harbor Freight.

I was on a job this week and realized I didn't have but one wheel and I beat the snot out of it, there was a flea across the street and scored 5 for 5$. They are not terrible. I havnt used HF per sa but got some DeWalt for 2 at Tractor and they are ok, nothing to write home about but it was handy at 2 a piece. I bought some in a blister 10 pack from there a while back too for a dollar a piece and they were pretty good.
Its like a lot of things, at a buck they are good and most of the time I cant tell. A couple of them are as good as one premium. Takes an extra wheel once in a while but it isn't a deal breaker.
