I do not have a smart phone so no pics of the trailer or accident. Dual axle trailer, with one ton axles. Got T-boned in an intersection,1.5 hours from home. Turns out the people who hit me did not have insurance. Will get more progress pics tomorrow. 3 of the 4 bathrooms now work and the garage has sheeting. He got the footing for the deck/breezeway dug and poured, with the framer coming tomorrow to start that build(1200 sq ft I believe). Still waiting on trusses for garage roof. And the power company is still dragging their feet. More on that later!

Still just starting to realize the difference in building a house and building stuff up to fit a house. For the love of god I hope they get moved in soon. The framer is a pro , it is just a lot of reverse engineering! I think it would have been easier had he went in before we did the plumbing. The pour guy is now trying to build around us and plumbing.

Well semi eventful but not much done. 100% of plumbing is done except we still can't get the power company out, so no hot water. Basement stairs are in. Had to go with a landing and turn around because the old basement was just under 7 ft tall and the new basement is 9 ft. there was not enough head room for my 6 ft 4 brother to get down without bending over if they went straight down. Some carpet replaced. Garage sheeting is up. Waiting for trusses. There is a mural in what was suppose to be the daughters room. Looks like they are going to lose it tying in the trusses for the breezeway. Got my truck back today after the trailer accident. I will post some pics here now.

Not much progress. Some painting and power company here Monday (we hope). I had some classes last week, and while chewing on a pen cap, I swallowed it!!! It got stuck so I was out for a few days recovering. He has a new job and has been very busy. Spent the last 3 days camping and have not talked to or visited. Going out tonight or first thing tomorrow for pics and updates. I took Thursday Friday off this week with the hope of deck, roof and breezeway being done. On a side note we got the in-laws house across the street, basement foundation poured Thursday. Pulling the forms this week and start framing early next week. It should be said when I say we, I mean them and I am just the guy who does what he is told and provides whatever manual labor is needed free of charge. Check back soon. I will start a build thread on the in-laws soon. My father in-law is already thinking the garage is not big enough, so we will see what happens there.

I know people move houes all of the time, but I still cannot understand how they can move a wood-frame brick house without ruining it. With all of the damage you can see after the move is complete, I would be worried about all of the damage you can't see. Best of luck.

pwschuh they had an engineer look before and after setting the house, because the house was insured for the move. He was independent from the insurance company and moving company. His opinion was that aside from cosmetics(a few drywall cracks and tuck pointing), it actually looks better on the new foundation than the old one. We rewired and re-plumbed the house. I have some pics to load from yesterdays progress, I really thought I would be in jail this morning (more on that when I can load some pics from home this afternoon). They did sleep and bath and eat in it for the first time last night. Looking forward to a lumber and truss delivery, hoping today so we can be working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

So I rolled out to take pics yesterday and the house in the first pic, a builder has been working on for over six month. The power company was there hooking up power and gas. I stopped and talked to the crew because they were to hook my brothers yesterday. The supervisor looked confused and pulled up his schedule. He said they were the only crew doing the new hook ups and we are not on the schedule for the next month. I snapped and went on a 45 minute tirade of cussing and arm flailing and carrying on. Long story longer he proceeds to tell me they are not authorized to trench on run wire. I snapped again grabbed a shovel and started digging. He stopped me and said he would make some phone calls and I should come back at 2 and he will let me know what's up. Got back at 2 and no one around. That really pissed me off. My dad calls at 2:30 and says they are hiding behind our community center in town 3 blocks away. Tracked them down and they were working by 3. These asshats were done before 4. I could not imagine how it took them so many weeks to get a 2 man crew out to do 45 minutes of work.

There is a pic of the 45 minutes it took them to bury the cable, one of the foundation we got done for the in-laws and got the trailer loaded up and ready to start the deck if builders supply ever show up with materials.

Yes it was a chore for sure. We had to trim trees, pull mailboxes, remove highway and street signs. We did the ones we could ourselves because it was $100.00 per sign if we had to have the county or state pull them. But we had to pull them and as soon as the house went by they had to be reinstalled before traffic was allowed back on the roads. Got just over an inch last of rain last night and expected to rain all day today and on and off tomorrow so no roof for the garage or deck today, but will see what kind of progress we can get done tomorrow if they get lumber there today.

So much rain the last few days. Still no lumber for roof and deck. Went to get base for a paver walk way\patio running from the driveway to the house, lost a tire on the dump trailer. He was still hungover at 2 this afternoon and he was in bed sleeping. They got the tiling done at the in-laws this morning and I picked up a pool table for my in-laws. Ready to back-fill the in-laws foundation Sunday or Monday so framing can start. I think we can, I think we can. Just keep plugging away and trying to keep my wife happy!!!

Just got home from my in-laws rental property. A water line blew in the bathroom. Threw my back out at church this morning, can hardly walk. Looking forward to heating and A/C work midweek. I am not sure my brother has any idea what that cost will be. Dad and his crew will be doing the work at cost, but 2 furnaces and 2 A/C units are not cheap. Framer has no idea when we can start roof and deck now. He is working for free and materials are still not delivered(only 7 more days of rain expected). In-laws hoped to be in by thanksgiving, Easter would be a blessing, but 4th of July is looking more possible!

Sorry to hear about the back. That's usually the most intense pain and not something you can get relief from quickly. I hope you heal soon.

Wish it was something exotic. We cut down 15 trees there 2 weeks ago and all was fine. Picked up my four year daughter yesterday during the service and could not sit back down. Made it by my brothers and they are hooking gas up as I type, carpet for the rest of the house got picked up yesterday and will be installed tonight. Furnace before the end of the week (which is good as the weather is getting cooler). Framer called and will start Thursday on the in-laws. Planning on a house warming\30th birthday party for my brother this Saturday. Wanted to have the deck done but does not look like that will happen. Hopefully no one wonders out the back or side doors!!!

Back fill done at in-laws today. My brother lost the same tire on the dump trailer today. Driving by to check in tonight and he thought he blew the pump on the dump trailer. I guess he went to dump the trailer around 4:30 and the pump gave out. He never called for help but driving by around 6:30 saw him working on it. Quick trip home to drop my wife off and the dump trailer was running by 7:15, (he will try anything 9 times) sometimes it's better to ask for help). Ended up being a bad ground cable. I will take some credit!!! Will post some pics tomorrow but party is on for Saturday, so no progress this coming weekend. Still hoping for heating and A/C the next 2 day.

Lumber delivered for in-laws framing and plumbers got started on drain lines. Got grass growing at my brothers the last few days. Still not sure where the trusses are for the garage. He had his house warming/birthday party today. My Grandpa and Aunt bought pizza from 2 hours away. Had a couple hundred show up I think. My wife and I had 3 birthday parties today. Had to return the bobcat this morning. Down into the 40s at night and still no furnace on the main floor(I hope he is keeping his wife warm at night).

So I bring the enclosed trailer home Friday to free up parking. Today is his birthday and they have been talking about all the unpacking and unloading they have been doing. They have so much stuff in my 4 car I can't get my truck in. So this morning I rallied the wife and kids to load the trailer. In part to get my garage back and to get him the rest of his stuff back with no work on his part. Dropped the ramp to find all the unpacking they had done. Pictures speak a thousand words. And I still have nothing out of my garage. I guess their definition and my definition of unpacking are different!! Here is what I saw when the deck came down.
