Ha finely something I can chime in on. I use cutting disk every day being an Ironworker and here is what I have found cutting disk are like NASCAR.all the disk are made with the same **** it is the operator that makes the **** happen. You want something cut fast put pressure you got time don't. Your disk will last three times longer at least. Be gentle and post your results.
i disagree almost completely. if you have used cheap reinforced aluminum oxide cut off wheels, then a high quality aluminum oxide wheel, you will absolutely notice a marked improvement, in both life of the wheel, and cut speed and quality. then you have other abrasive materials used, like the dewalt xp wheels i believe are zirconia oxide/aluminum oxide, and are much improved over the standard aluminum oxide dewalt wheels. there are other high end abrasive materials used like cubic boron nitride. cheaper wheels use cheaper bonding resins and lesser quality grain sizes, and they wear out quickly. then you have well made wheel that have quality bonding, and better grain structure and type, they last much longer, and cut much faster. very simple.
i have used norton, dewalt(both), vermont, and the HF chicago brand. a, and menards tool shop. the dewalt xp are great. norton has a good wheel. vermonts are decent and the cheap ones, they will cut, and get the job done. but they dont last long, and it takes more effort and time to do the job. any will work. but like most anything, there is a difference, and its not small.
