Hey guys... Help me out here. I am looking for a way to store a couple grinders. I have a large 9" grinder and a pair of 4.5's that I am trying to figure out a good way to store them in the shop. I use them all the time, so I would like some sort of hanging rack for the wall over in a cabinet or drawer. Welding can be required to build the rack too.

Any photos would be great!

I cut this out on my Torchmate using a file I found. You could build a functionally similar thing by spacing a flat piece of steel off the wall and letting the grinders hang from it.

Hey, that is pretty slick! How deep is that off the wall? I have some rather thin wall rectangle tubing kicking around from some exercise equipment that I grabbed for the VS motor. That might just work perfect cut out like that (minus the fancy name!)

You realize you need to open up an ebay store selling these right?

These are awesome!

You can even spray they to match the buyers tool box for an extra fee.

Ok now I will take 10% manager fees!

I talked to the SWAG guys at a tradeshow earlier this year. They have some really trick stuff. The mini bandsaw is such a great idea.

That swag mount is essentially the same as the one from post 2...

I'm thinking something like that off the back of my welding bench/tool box roller for the three mini grinders I have/use...

1/8"x1.5" flat stock welded between the uprights on my stair rail. Nice and close to my welding table, yet out of the way from welding sparks and slag that could fall on/in them.

Thanks, Monte. I got them all second-hand, and I figured some would become parts donors for others. But it turns out Metabo makes a pretty strong grinder -- so I have four of them set up for 4-1/2" (115mm) discs, two set up for 6" (150mm) discs, and one 9" (230mm).

For the small set, there are three WE14-150s (with smaller guards) and one WPS7-115.

For the medium pair, one is a WEP14-150 and one is a WE14-150.

The big one is a W23-230.

I prefer paddle switches for wire brushes and locking switches for grinding or cutting discs. I'm not sure why.

I could easily get by with fewer -- by at least two. But now that I've got them in the shop, it's nice not to have to change from one type of disc to another, or manage with a 4-1/2" when there's room for a 6".

I know they are disappearing (nor will this help you with the actual grinder) but the blank CD holders are perfect for holding your various grinder disks. Keeps them clean and organized for sure.
