Thanks guys. WishI could get my photos to post better! Here are a few more!!

Current garage status is shameful, but with winter coming and the new project/end of MTB race season for three kids, etc... it’s just got to be a mess for another few weeks...[emoji6]

26’ deep, 38’ wide, 11’ walls, 19’ interior height at the peak.

As for the heater, I’ll be using a hanging unit, probably 80K BTU plus or minus. I had to run a 1” gas line to support that BTU rating, since it’s a 300’ run... more to come soon!!

Love how the floors turned out. At least from the initial pics they looked polished.

I’ve made some serious progress on wiring, and the siding is almost complete as well, though I can’t take credit for the siding, the wiring is all me. ;)

Here are a few pics...I ended up making a solid conduit (1/2” pipe) post to mount my UFO lights. They are up at about 14’ currently and with the dimmer they work out pretty nicely. I’d say that if you ran these full on (20,000 lumen 150W each), they are too harsh. I used a Home Depot fan ceiling box screwed level to the vaulted truss. Then I added two extensions to be sure it will be easy to trim around when it comes time to finish the ceiling.

Thanks! We have a similar size, mine is 28' x 35'. I ended up going with a 60,000 BTU unit.

Do you keep it warm all of the time, or do you just warm it up as needed when you want to work? Also curious about insulation and cost to keep it heated...if you have an idea...

For WiFi access, I’m setting up an ASUS AIMesh systems. Hopefully I’ll get seamless coverage between the house and the garage.

The routers will connect to each other via LAN, through a gigabit Ethernet switch in the house. Hopefully at least one of the two burial rates Ethernet cables will work! I’m right at about 300’ of buried cable, which is near the max for Ethernet, from what I’ve read.

The Ethernet in the new garage will run security cameras (Ring) and likely an AppleTV unit that I’ll use for YouTube access...comes in handy when I’m not sure how to fix something... ;)

This past weekend I spent some time cleaning up and actually using my garage instead of working on it. Also trying to get some exercise before Spring biking starts up... it is cleaned up pretty nicely right now, hopefully I can keep it that way for a while.

I'll have to loop back to you on costing, finally getting connected tonight. Was like herding cats pulling together all pieces for install. My plan is to have it heated all winter likely 10 Celsius during the day and raised over night. Installed a programmable thermostat to make things easier.

I found a project to keep me occupied during the pandemic...I installed pallet racking for the entire length of the garage. Used (4) 102” sections linked together. I set them up high (96”) for snowmobile storage and then a shelf at 73” walk-under so I can move in and out of the space easily. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and they went up in a few short hours with the help of my boys.

I fit the racking right around my boat.

And finally...got the snowmobiles up and out of the way for the summer. The Bobcat makes a pretty good forklift!

Thanks for the update. I am jealous of the skid steer. I would love to have one for my property. But i just dont feel like I have enough property to justify the cost.

A few more additions to the garage today in the form of a sturdy work surface and my trusty Wilton vice (which could use a fresh coat of paint!). Getting started on helping my son with his RX8 engine rebuild as well!

Yesterday I picked out a nice used T550 bobcat to replace my S590. It should help with out soft soil, as I found myself getting stuck quite a bit with the wheel machine. It will be great for the final landscaping around the garage as well.

Yesterday was also a big day for cleaning up the old shed and miscellaneous junk that has been piled around it in the woods. It’s a great feeling to have everything consolidated into one place!

No more shed!!! Just a little gravel pad that will make a great spot for my split wood pile.

A few updates... the T590 I picked up ended up missing a few options that the seller claimed it had, so I moved it along and picked up a nice T630 with super low hours (and still under factory warranty. It’s made quick work of my grading and this weekend I hope to get some of my landscaping done.

Also, the paint is nearly complete and I’m super excited to see this thing take final shape!

Third, my son has nearly completed his first project in the new garage, rebuilding the rotary (wankel) in his RX8...it should start up today!
