Came across a good T8 or T12 fluorescent to LED conversion light tube for under $5 per tube and you by pass the ballast. Check out this project available on Amazon. I got the 4000k tube. I used 2 LED 18watt tubes replacing 4 fluorescent 34watt tubes.

I have eight foot T8 florescent lights with 4 four foot tubes. So do you have to move the outside tombstones in order to put in an 8 foot LED tube

I'd go back with 4 four foot tubes. Easier to handle. If you use 4 whatever set of tombstones are powered is strictly a matter of choice with the LED tubes that direct wire, i.e. no ballast. The same applies to eight foot tubes; power what set of tombstones is easiest.
