Hey guys putting some of the finishing touches on my new shop. Ran all the wiring in conduit on the outside of the walls. Everything is galvanized.

Im having trouble finding a 4 gang toggle switch cover that is galvanized. How thought that finding some cheap looking cover would be so hard.

Anyone lead me in the right direction???

Thanks
matt

What did you use for a box, a switch box which has ears for mounting the switches, or a gang box that has ears on the ends for mounting a cover, available punched many different ways? Most likely anything you need will be special order. I bought 5 gang box and switch plate, and later a 5 gang of a different brand and a flat plate that I carved the openings in myself (you can special order odd combinations to be punched but its expensive and takes lots of time)

Who ever made the box makes the covers also, just need to find their catalog and get a electrical supply house to special order it for you.

Are you looking for a switch plate?, or for a cover that the switches mount in, and is in itself, the switch plate?

For flat gang box covers that are punched for switches here is one source.

As already noted, if you are looking for a regular switch cover plate, I don't think them make them in galvanize.

Gang box with no device mounting ears, with covers installed. Devices mount to the cover, not the box in this case.

This brings up a question I have long had.

Are there any code requirements for things like boxes and covers?
Are there any reasons not to make your own?

I needed a seven-gang gray nylon cover for my shop. Couldn't order one anywhere I looked, so I ordered two fours, and cut them to match up and look like a seven-holer.
