I see the gearwrench quadbox. Any other decent options out there?
Not looking to break the bank it's going to live in my tool roll for my bike.

i have the gearwrench one. stays on my pegboard for simple things I don't want to get in the main toolbox for or if I need to grab something super compact that has a lot of sizes. I like the gearwrench version has a bit that extends outside the head to get slightly recessed fasteners

Those quadbox ones are part of the clearance at the local Advance Auto and Carquest stores. Personally I don't care for them but I know people who do. I sold my bikes but I could see putting them in a road kit.

I use a set of metric Toptuls on my cart. If they disappeared I would buy another set pronto.

The gear wrench aren’t bad for what they are but, I’ve gone though several at work. Either they fail and can’t switch direction or the selector falls off. Still very handy to carry around.

this is also on the smallest size of gear wrench.

I haven't seen any at my local advance clearance I've been looking.
I remember seeing them at a plant I used to work for. Maint guys loved them quick adjustments. Was thinking of having work order me a set now that I'm maint. But for a roadside kits they just seem perfect.

I just picked up a pair of the Teq Pro from Advance Auto this afternoon for $7.95 I don’t know that I NEED them, but for that price, I’ll give them a try.

Stupid question here... But I looked at these last time at Advance, and thought about buying, but I couldn't see the advantage over a ratchet/socket. Is there one that I am missing?

Two advantages I can think of: they’re able to get into spaces a socket/ratchet might not and fewer tools to tote around.

having said that, I mostly got them on a lark to see how useful they’d be.

Sold quite a few of then when I sold TOPTUL. The local motorcycle guys loved them as they got four wrenches for the weight of one. I still get requests for them even though I'm out of the business.

I like them because I can fit it in a chest pocket and it’s super handy, but an actual socket and ratchet is better, I just can’t carry everything

I was actually Going to have my work order a metric and SAE set to carry with me for my PM's at work as well.
still ordered a personal set lol. need to soon.

The duratech ones look similar to the ones made by infar http://www.infar.com.tw/product-4-IN-1-REVERSIBLE-GEARTECHS-DOUBLE-BOX-WRENCH-2-4-1-4.html those are the ones that were sold as duralast before they switched manufacturers.

If you can, get the flex head type, as the straight ones have some access limitations. I was using mine while installing a condenser and due to them not having any offset, I ended up scratching the selector switch with the edge of the mounting bracket. Still totally functional, but not as nice looking as before.

I may have work orde a set of them. Was at the flea market and picked up the small SAE sized Cresent X6 today for like $3. thats really the ones i need are the smaller ones. I figured a $3 tool will make life easier and work faster is well worth it.
