Good day everyone, I picked this up the other day for $30; I will clean it up a bit, paint it and give it to my son. I love these old Craftsman tools, especially the pedestal models which I have a few of (pictures will follow in the near future).
I really enjoy this site, there are so many great photos, a ton of information, and some very knowledgeable people.

Take care all!
Phil

That's an interesting mount mod. I presume to raise it up to a more comfortable working height for the previous owner.

Thanks for posting!

Great deal at $30 if it works.

If the height is perfect I would come up with a more visually appealing way rather then the wood. Enjoy!

Nice looking machine for sure. I really enjoy the pedestal mounts it alone is well worth what you gave for it.

Thanks all, yes it works, no the 2x4 risers are not staying, and I thought the same, worse case the stand is worth the $30 bucks.

I have a 4"Cman on the same pedestal, from the 50s. Mine is a 103.xxxx made by King Seeley. Yours looks quite bit different. Can you see the model number so we can date it?

There is a specific custom pedestal for this 4" CM jointer, that looks to be pictured. This was right around the 50th anniversary, only made for a few years.

You all are crazy, he deserves a YOU ****!!!! for that. Those pedestals for the Craftsman Jointer are pretty hard to come by, especially for $30 for everything in the picture.

I really like the pedestal mount but it seems like it would be prone to tipping lengthwise. A lot of leverage that high up.
