4 Pin to 8 pin cpu ok

I need some Help urgently

I have A gigabyte G31M Motherboard and want to upgrade to a Giogabyte B85 Motherboard. The G31 Had a 4 pin connector and the B85 has an 8 pin. I am just wondering will It be okay to plug in a 4 pin to an 8 pin CPU connector. I would Like to put In 32 GB of RAM and A small Radeon 412 MB Graphics Card. would a four pin be okay or would I have to buuy an 8 pin transformer

4pin vs 8pin is just a current supply difference, it doesn't have anything to do with different voltages. More than likely they are connected inside the motherboard. The motherboards manual will say for sure, but some general rules are:

1: if you are running the most powerful processor the motherboard can handle and overclocking it, then you probably need the 8pin.

2: if you are running a lower power processor and not overclocking than the 4pin will likely work.

3: trying it is unlikely to break anything. If the 4pin isn't providing enough juice it'll just crash.

U should check the mobo manual to see how much power it needs.
