I am looking for a 4 post lift 8K to 9K and rolling jack for home use, mainly storage. I am looking for a cheaper lift which sadly I know will be Chinese made as most things. Some I have been looking at, triumph, auto lift, nationwide and titan. I like the auto Lift RJ-45 Rolling Jack 4,500 lb. Capacity @ $695.00.
Any suggestions would be great or reviews of people that have them.

Thank you for any help

Nelson

I have the extra long extra wide bendpac with a RJ45 jack and couldn't be happier. But I also bought it over a decade ago. The last few years it seems BP quality has been hit or miss and at this point wouldn't be a manufacturer I'd recommend. But I can highly recommend getting the jack, it's worth every dime.

For a cheaper lift, look at the Challenger. Buy one sliding bridge jack as opposed to a rolling jack and use jackstands and then move the sliding jack to the other end. I spent the big bucks on the Bendpak HD-9XW and two Bendpak rolling bridge jacks.

The Challenger is more money than the bendpak.

Challenger CL4P9W Ex-Length & Width 4 Post Storage/Service Lift 9,000
$3821.25

BendPak HD-9XL Ex-Wide & Long 4 Post Car Lift 9000 lb - New Gray
$3020.00

This seems to be the best value for a rolling jack.
Auto Lift RJ-45 Rolling Jack 4,500 lb. Capacity for Car-Park-9 - AL-RJ-45
List Price: $695.00

This is where bendpak gets you:

BendPak JP-3 Non-Adjustable 3,000 lb. Capacity Sliding Jack Platform BendPak-JP-3
List Price: $145.00

BendPak Optional Portable Caster Kit for the HD-9 series - 5210997
List Price: $275.00

BendPak Plastic Drip Trays fits BendPak's HD-7 and HD-9 Series Lifts (Set of 2) - 5700301
List Price: $55.00 X2 = $110.00

BendPak RBJ4500 Rolling Bridge Jack 4,500 Lbs. Supersedes RJ-45
List Price: $1,175.00

I didn't go with the cheapest. Advantage 9000 EXT....with rolling bridge jack. I am very happy. Great group to work with. I like the enclosed slide as an extra margin of safety and the lift supports the rated weight without being bolted down.

SS-9000XLT $3,695.00 Nice thing with this hoist at least you get:
36" aluminum approach ramps weigh only 29 lbs.
Heavy‑duty poly caster wheels that won't cut or mar your painted floor.
Rolling Jacking Tray 4400 lb. with a drain plug.
Drip Trays a set of 4 to catch the drips

The aluminum ramps are a few hundred dollars extra with other lifts.

These all look and spec about the same: I am strongly considering one of these and I do like the included aluminum ramps of the Triumph and advantage. I think otherwise they all include the Rolling Jacking Tray,
Drip Trays and casters. I don't know if shipping specs are correct but the wildfire shows 300 pounds more...???

Triumph

Titan Lifts. Saw these guys MCACN in Chicago last November. They had several lifts set up and they were being used by the show judges. That might be an option. Looks like they have a 7K and an 8K model# SDPL-8000XLT.

Well another one the fire line is Direct lift - Pro Park 8K PLUS LONG
$2,649.00 USD or Pro Park 9K PLUS $3,049.00 USD. Direct lift is ALI certified which is important to some.

Titan SDPL-8000XLT 4-Post Lift $??? The 7k is $2800.00 / Off the list..

I bought the Pro-Park 9 last winter, along with 2 of the bridge jacks. I'm quite happy with it. I originally thoguht I was going to get a Bendpak, but my poor experience(s) with their sales dept made me wonder how much worse it would be dealing with them after they had my money.

The pro park look good. I would not be as concerned about certification if I was just using the lift for storage. I do all the work on my cars, so it was important to me. I sometimes do serious work like dropping an engine or trans so I wanted as much space between runners as possible. Most 7-9k lifts are in the 37-39” range, which is fine for a trans but might make dropping an engine on its subframe a little harder. The bendpak has a wide option that goes to 44” so it’s the one I got. The bendpak bridge jacks were pricey but you don’t need them if your interest is storage and for many jobs an inexpensive jack tray and jack will work fine.

I just bought the Advantage 9000 and I second every positive comment reported all over these forums.
I got 2 of the manual rolling jacks and I agree that 1 is enough, in fact I'll sell you the basically unused one for $550.:)

I believe I am going to go with this one. They are going to be ALI certified sometime next year. No change needed to the lift but the manual had to be revised from my understanding to pass the ALI requirements.

FYI - The Advantage lift is a quality item, it appears to be well-made, but the company has been espousing that "it will be ALI certified next year" line for the last five years...and it's still not certified. :rolleyes2

Just sayin'.

My experience is just the opposite. I use both bridge jacks all the time. It's a lot more convenient than using jackstands and a tray, since often the lift point is also the best place for the jackstand.

Which lift is best at not walking?I’m thinking about getting one and don’t want to bolt it to slab. Wildfire looks to be really solid.

I think the wildfire and the Advantage 9000 are very close in build... I like some of the Advantage 9000 items better....

I think you have the right idea in looking at lifts with 4-sides posts vs. c channels. I have a Wildfire and it doesn’t move. I liked the features better than those on the Atlas, but they are among several lifts on the market that are very similar, and I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.

I would recommend the aluminum ramps whatever one you choose. I am 67 years old and the aluminum is just right for me. I also like the stability of the Wildfire or the Advantage. I had my Jeep Grand Cherokee up on my 9000 xlt 7' to the ramp and no wiggle. I don't like wiggle. Enjoy.

I have been pretty happy with my Atlas. It is about 7 years old now and has seen quite a bit of use; probably more than it should. I bought it from Greg Smith Equipment. It is not anchored to the floor.

LXCam,

Thank you for your patronage. Glad you couldn’t be happier, especially after a decade of service.

It hurts me (and embarrasses me at the same time) to hear that you are convinced that BendPak no longer cares about its customers and that our quality has diminished. I promise you that we still care very deeply. Every lift we ship today is engineered and designed better and stronger than anything ever made in the past – US made or not. Are there times when one of our products delivered was not worthy of the label? Embarrassingly yes, but many times, other parties are/were involved. Was it possible 15-30 years ago to call BendPak (at any time of the day), talk to Judy the receptionist and have her transfer you directly to Joe the customer service guy? Sure it was. Sadly we grew. A lot.

10-years ago, you probably combed the internet looking for truth – online customer comments and reviews. One or two disparaging comments online and you would have likely been swayed. Even 10 years ago, BendPak would have been shipping 30 times more lifts than today’s Backyard Buddy, Advantage and Wildfire - all who make a quality product I’m sure, but perspective should be noted.

What the internet proves is that small-scale lift companies selling just one or two lifts a day fare better in the world of public opinion than lift companies selling 150+ lifts a day. Of course they would fare better because fewer lifts means fewer problems, fewer damaged shipments, fewer shipping delays, fewer missing parts, a helluva a lot less phone rings, and yes, fewer complaints – it’s a numbers game.

Of course there’s a place for smaller, boutique lift companies, but they seem to be part of a dying breed, so be wise. The withering of small businesses trying to stay alive amid the ascendancy of larger adversaries (and e-commerce) has been documented for more than a decade. In my 36 years at BendPak I have seen at least a dozen lift brands come and go - no more phone number, no more website, and no more service.

Finicky customers make you better which is why we will continue focusing on what consumers are saying. To ignore the voice of the street would be counterintuitive. As we continue to grow (and we will), BendPak will continue to improve our processes and efficiencies. I promise.

Thanks again for your business.

I bought my first Bendpak about 6 years ago. Bought another about 18 months ago. For me the quality and customer service were great both times. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a third if I needed it.

Regarding the Wildfire, it's a knock off of the Advantage Lift. Both companies are in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis and I thought I heard somewhere that the Wildfire owners actually purchased an Advantage Lift. Not sure if it's true, but I find it interesting that the Wildfire website doesn't have much information, but what they do have shows that's it's basically an Advantage Lift.

I love my Advantage Lift and wouldn't recommend any other. As for BendPak, I was about ready to buy one last year but when I called their support line to get answers, they provided some very dangerous electrical suggestions, and when asked to clarify, they never called me back. I never had that issue with Advantage Lift.
