I've had one of the generic Chinese 4 post lifts since last Feb and use it sparingly at home. I've noticed a little hyd oil collecting on the plastic shields they supplied for under the cylinder.
Just curious how much is normal?

shouldn't have any oil leaking. there is a little breather hole on top of the cylinder at the fixed end of the cylinder, if it is leaking, it will be from that hole , which then runs to the bottom of the cylinder and along the length of the cylinder so you should be able to trace it back to the hole. It will require the internal seal to be replaced.

Mine leaked first from a loose fitting. Easy fix. Then after less than a year it began to leak from the rod end threaded cap. The seal was probably damaged on assembly. Removed the cylinder and got a kit for it from the dealer thinking it is most likely metric. Got it fixed. It has been fine for about a year or so. No leaks.
