I recently purchased a townhouse with a small, but tall garage. I had a Bendpak HD-9SWX installed about a month ago. So far, it’s been great. I would have preferred two four post lists so that each car could be lowered independently, but this works much better for my size garage.

I have an HD-9SWX, but I only park one car in the middle. (car goes up into the vaulted part of the ceiling).

6 years now, no issues. Has been a great lift.

I have the Wildfire double wide lift. I’ve been very happy with it. Very well built, great attention to safety, and comes with a lot of items that some others charge extra for. I’d be happy to discuss it if you’d like.

Hi Steve had one on order. Is the lift in the picture with the Land Cruiser max rise on the highest lock? Can you measure the clearance please from the ground to the top? Is it 82" as Bendpak states? I have a Van that is almost 82" and trying to see if it will fit under?

Thanks

That is a nice lift but I don't think I could do the townhouse living.

That is one helluva high garage for a townhouse. That Landcruiser fits with room to spare underneath, and it looks like it might even have a slight lift and/or oversized tires.

i have a bendpak swx. the double wides generally seem to be for people who have limited space. if you have the space 2 individual lifts or the twin lift with single middle support would be nicer. i would have gone with this if i had the space. i know it's a hassle to clear out the whole footprint to lower the lift when you only need one side down. the other thing that people don't really consider is the height of the runways when the lift is down. the crossmembers are ~9" tall and depending on what you've done with leveling can end up being a 12" rise + possible sloped driveway. you'll want a pretty long ramp to deal with that and if your garage door is small, like mine, every trip onto the lift is a careful excursion with a spotter.

one nice thing is the ability to move the runways and park a car in the middle if you're doing major work that requires lots of space to the sides of the car.

I have a long garage but not wide enough for the double platform lift. Plus that lift costs 28k pretty pricy. My door is 9' feet high and my lift would sit about 15' behind the door. Under behind the double lift I have another grand prix lift and a work area with gym. I would need to driver the double lift to get the grand prix 2 post if I can't clear my van under it. Also I had plan to keep my jetskies under the lift so I'll be able to move them both easy to take down a car or I might jeep 2 projects up on the lift until I can get to 1 which will be years lol. I have 1 small project I need to finish on my grand prix lift at the moment.

Are you able to lift your double wide all the way up to the last lock? If so can you please tell me the clearance you have with a tap measure from the floor to the lowest point of the lift? Thanks

An update: I had the HD-9SWX installed and on the highest lock, the clearance is 78". If you lift all the way off the locks you get a max 82" passthrough clearance.

It is hard to find info online about HD-9SWX.

What are you guys doing in regard to the capacity specs that decrease capacity based on wheelbase.

I am wanting to put 2 3300lb cars on top with a wheelbase of 105 inches.

Based on the Bendpak literature the 9K capacity is assuming 2 cars with 135 inch wheelbase.

Capacity decreases 75% for 115" wheelbase and 50% for 95".

Can someone also confirm the 82" max clearance is not on a lock and the highest locked clearance is 78".

Thanks

I can’t speak to the BendPac but in the end, I ended up going with the Wildfire lift.
It worked flawlessly. Ended up moving and sold it with the house.
At various times I had a ‘70 suburban with a big block, ‘99 Jeep Cherokee, 4 seater CanAm, and a ‘09 Jeep Wrangler.
Plenty of deck width and length.
I’m 6’ 3” tall and had plenty of room to work etc. underneath it.
I ended up putting LED tube lights held on by magnets that worked perfectly for underneath light. I used a coil cord so it could stay plugged in when I moved the deck up and down.

That being said, when I finish my shop. I’m getting another.

I have one do you still need the info?

A neighbor actually knows the BP president and hooked me up with an email and phone call.

The response....
For vehicles with a wheelbase of 104.5” and 3300-pound weight, the HD-9SWX is suited perfectly well

Is that max height on top locks 78" or 82" on yours?

Bendpack needs to put correct info on the site.

After the installers left I did my own adjustment to get the max height

With cars on top I get about 79" on the lock at the lowest point which is on the back beam center were you get the most flex. You do have more clearance once you get a car under it about a few more but on the lock the pass threw was 79". With the cars on top I got about 80.5" max lift. I bet it would be more without the cars. You get cable stretch.

The front were you drive up, I get 81" on lock and 82" all the way up because the 2 cars are park all the way to the back end.
