4 post Hoist install question

Hey guys!

I’ll be getting a 4 post hoist installed in my garage possibly next week and I was just wondering in regards to installation are there any tips or tricks? Positioning?

It’ll be on the single side infront of the newage cabinets and I assume tight to the garage door?

It will be installed by the company I purchased it from but I just want to make sure I’m completely prepared for it. I mean I don’t think I’ll have to chalk lines or anything right?

I would also like to drill the posts to the concrete but even if he doesn’t do that I can do it later.

Only issue I see is you have the man door in the front, so is there enough clearance if the lift is there?

What brand lift? If the ramps don’t come off the. You have to leave space for them also.

I never bolted my 4 posts down.

I should have about 30” infront of the man door and 30”’by the back cabinets I believe I’ll have to double check.

I think I would like to bolt mine down. At least
1 on each corner anyway

Make sure you have clearance for car doors to be opened.

You won't need to chalk an outline, if you ordered the caster kit. You can move the lift to wherever you need to.

I didn't bolt mine down no real need to. Now if I had one in a business or commercial shop and was running it up and down 10 times a day I might bolt it down. I'd leave it unbolted at least until you're absolutely sure where you want it.

I enter my shop through the man door so my lift is on the other side of the shop (24'x24"). It makes it easier to roll in equipment that I stour in my shed, like my pressure washer, etc.

That’s true. Yeah it should come with the caster kit. I don’t plan on using it daily but probably most weekends. I’m sure my family members will start calling me more often now too lol.
I’ll probably leave it unbolted for now then until I’m absolutely sure where it’s going and then I’ll bolt it down then good point.
