Hey Guys,

I have been doing a lot of research regarding a lift for my garage. The 2 that I have been focused on recently are the 4-Post Atlas Garage Pro 8000 and Benpak HD-9. I have also looked into 2 post lifts but due to their higher requirement of width and 6" spacing on each end it just will not fit right below is my garage dimensions.

- 22 x 21' primary garage. 2 Feet is already allocated on back wall so actual is 22x19' usable space. I park 2 vehicles in this garage.

-Additional 11 x 21' single garage.

All ceilings are 12.5'

Now for pricing the Atlas is $2595 and $795 with the RJ-35 Sliding Jack so $3,390.

The Bendpak is $3,525 and $1500 RBJ4500 Sliding Jack so $5025.

After reviewing many past posts it seems the Bendpak lifts went significantly up in price. With the $1,635 price difference is the Bendpak significantly better product? Is there another product I should be looking at?

Thanks for reading and input this is a great community and resource.

I bought the bendpak because the opening between runners is wider and I work on my cars. The jacks are expensive but I think someone found a bridge jack from another lift maker that fit and is much cheaper. Search in GJ in the past year.

I was initially looking at the Bendpak HD9, then started to look at their Grand Prix. It seemed that the Grand Prix was continually delayed, and nw is slated for spring of 2020. It was also scheduled for release in spring of 2019... I ended up purchasing an Advantage DX9000 XLT. The Bendpak Grand Prix looks like a clone of the Advantage lift. I am very happy with the Advantage lift. Another consideration is that the Advantage lifts are under warrantee for a full 5 years, including the hydraulics. I plan to use an air bag jack with the rolling jack tray, but I have yet to move my compressor, so for now I just use a bottle jack.

I've had the Atlas 8000 for over 8 years, no problems what so ever, I would recommend it to anyone. The welds/quality are as good as any lift that I compared it to.

go with the atlas, or a weaver, all lift are basically the same except the rotary, service is where the quality is, bendpak service is bad. part quality, bendpak are chineese so when a part breaks you replace the whole component instead of a simple seal.

i would go with atlas

Our Advantage SS9000XLT has been excellent and the support has been top notch. Tony's knowledge pre sale was solid and the 5 year warranty is reassuring. I've had exactly one issue, a hydraulic line that started dripping at the swage. Tony sent a new one out immediately. The lifts are made in China. Honestly? Zero concerns about it.

Im going advantage when the time comes based on many things but customer service is the number one reason. The second is the sheer beefy build if the lift. The manual lift jack is I believe $900 and all other accessories are included with the price.

If Bendpak thought highly enough of it that they would copy it then it must be a good design.

I have the HD9. No regrets.

I did buy the Atlas manual bridge jack. It is way cheaper than the Bendpak version.

I did go thru the entire unit and found some issues that my OCD required fixing. My checkbook was the deciding factor. No regrets on the Atlas purchase.

Call each company and talk to them about their product. If you talk to Tony at Advantage, you will buy one. I'm an elevator mechanic by trade, so these things are pretty much home toys of what I work on every day. Tony was the only salesman I talked to who seemed to really know what he was talking about.
I just put mine in last week. I have zero complaints.

I went with the Bendpak HD-9. To me it was exactly what I was looking for. Motor mounts lengthwise to save me 10” in width. Adjustable ramps for wider tire vehicles. Plus it’s ALI certified. The other lift I was considering was from Challenger.

My friend who installed this lift with me has the atlas 8000. He even made a comment that the Bendpak was much more sturdier than the Atlas.

Dang, BP's prices have gone up.
I bought my BenPak HD-9M a few years ago, the sliding jack was half of what you have listed and the lift itself was almost half of what you have listed. I think I paid for the HD-9 about the same as what you have listed for Atlas today, maybe a little less. I have looked at the Atlas pictures and I think the BenPak is a better built unit, but I am not sure it is worth the premium. I am happy with my BP lift, but BP service has left a bit to be desired. There was an item I was promised when I bought the unit, I felt it was a sweetener to get me to buy... but I never received it. Once I had the unit and had it installed, my phone calls and emails were ignored.

My HD-9XW was $3095, I think, about 2 years ago. Pre tariff. Supposedly there is another RBJ that fits and costs much less, maybe from advantage. Someone posted it in the last year.

I just purchased a four post from Advantage, based on all the positive feedback.

Another thumbs-up here for Advantage Lifts. Great quality, 5 year warranty and top notch customer service!

I also went with an Advantage Lifts DX-9000XLT.. Still waiting on Delivery. Only option I added on was (1) of the manual bridge jacks

I have an older Direct Lift XLT and a newer Atlas 8000, both from Greg Smith Equipment. Best investment I ever made, no issues with either lift for almost 10 years now. I like that the slides and locking mechanism is on the inside of both units, unlike the Advantage.

I also have a bridge jack and custom center platforms I fabricated for both. It comes in handy..

Just installed my Advantage lift. Install was a breeze and really happy with the quality and end result.
