Sorry if this is discussed elsewhere...

I've narrowed down my selection of a 4 post lift to Backyard buddy, or Rotary (revolution). Does anyone know what the key differences are?

BYB's big selling point is the fact that the post locking mechanisms slide over the post with a collar type operation where as most of the others....the post are channeled out for the locking mechanism.

I'm not to familiar with the rotatry unit but a couple close up pics will clear that question up for ya.

I think I actually got that link from this site when I started my own search many moons ago. If not from here, than from some other site - I can't possibly begin to take credit for any of it. :)

I looked at both in person and both are well made but I went with the backyard buddy for these reasons.

- I feel the column over post design is superior to a c-channel type design. Not such a big deal if you plan to bolt the lift down, but on a roll around definately.

- The BB has a superior lock design, notches cut into the posts and out in the open and easy to verify there integrity. The rotary has internal locks that are adjustable (with a large nut on top) and very hard to see visually.

- The ramps were 2 pieces of c-channel welded to a piece of plate, the rotary ones were formed.

You cannot go wrong with either choice but with the money being so close I feel the BB is a better manufactured and engineered piece.
