That is interesting, but too pricy IMO, I'm not setup with the Milwaukee brand yet. So far I'm Dewalt and Matabo and EGO for my yard. I actually picked up a sweet EGO portable light this past year, it's pretty awesome. A bit on the large size, but it works great for lighting things up. Dewalt also makes a pretty nice handheld light that I plan to get. So far my Hitachi(Matabo) one has also worked well. I've got several options as well. If you get the Milwaukee post feedback. The Milwaukee under lift light looks interesting to me. I usually use some kind of portable light or tower light. I can’t put strip lights down the inside of the runners because I actually use the lift to work on cars. The bridge jacks would crush those lights. Plus debris gets in the groove, tools and parts roll into them and the bridge Jack obscures the channel even if you could put lights low enough and the Jack rolled on top of the edge.
I don't see what would hurt putting the light in the groove. Maybe I'll look at the dimensions of the light channel and see if I can cut a piece of wood to lay in and see what my clearances actually are. The bridge jack and the jack tray runners don't seem to go that deep into the groove.
I know what you mean by stuff getting into the groove, but if the lights are protected by a channel, then they'd be safe. Over time the lenses on the light channels might need replacing. As I'm typing I can see things like carb and brake cleaner doing a number on them over time, but a towel would help protect during those needs. As for dust and small debris, a shop vac or my leaf blower make quick work of keeping that clean. Yes, I work on my cars as well and have a lot of welding going to need to be done on my 60 Suburban as it needs cab supports and floor pans. That's why I think the strip light would be really really nice!!
